Coming out of St. Nazaire driving my lovely VIIB in Oct 1941 I switched to free view (using the key to the right of the M key) and saw my boat in all its glory but, panning around I noticed that I had been fitted out with both nav lights GREEN!. Does this mean that I have two starboard sides to my boat eH! eh!. Not really important, just noticed it.
It's not an GW fault just a skin that wasn't exaimed careful enough ...lol
But on the other hand, you Boot is unique lol! :rock:And that's all that mattersī. Plus confusing the Tommys is a bonus!:rotfl:
Hi!
All subs in the stock game have left-to-right (starboard-to-port) mirror images. Aircraft are the same way - that's why the swastikas on some user-modified German aircraft skins have the swastikas that look OK on the port (left) side of the aircraft but are reversed on the right (starboard) side.

And why we've never been able to create "numbered" hulls for the escorts. K-72 for example would show up reversed. Someone was experimenting awhile back, but his escorts all had incorrect letter designations and were limited to 0 and 8 for number plans.

I know next to nothing about modelling, however I have done alot of skinning on other games and many games take the 'easy' route of mirrored textures. On other games though the modding community has been able to work around this by recompiling the models so that there are two versions of the texture within it.
For example it was mostly WW2 based FPS games I did skins for. Many of them had mirrored sleeve textures and that made it impossible to do realistic insignia in most cases. The modders were able to recompile the models so that Texture A did all it did before but only applied it's single sleeve texture to the left sleeve, not the right. Then there was a duplicate of the texture - Texture B, the model only used the part referring to the sleeve and applied that only to the left sleeve. Thereby giving you the option to have different textures on both sleeves.
Could ship models be recompiled with duplicate textures, Texture A for Port and Texture B for starboard?
It should be noted that doubling up on the textures does have a performance impact on lower end systems.
