Hi, I don't know if this is correct but the first patrol was to AM32 & only 2 ships & 1 warship were reported, & came accross none!:-? However the Radio messages were certainly thick! Both ships were hit by 2 torpedo's and around 50 deck Gun shells!:yep: before they finally sank, I think Teddy Bar had a hand in this - mixed emotions!
Is this encounter correct, or have I done something wrong?
Reece.

Reece your not alone my first patrol was AM41, on the way I had a few reports of ships in my area, but decided to follow orders and get post haste to my patrol zone. Whilst in that zone I saw nothing/heard nothing......Decided that after 24 hrs I would make my way back to base down the East side of Scotland/England...For sure I had oooodles of sonar contacts for warships, but only managed to sink 3 merchants in total, 2 small coastal merchants and a C2 for good measure......I think its just probabilities...Roll of the die/Luck.....Besides sinking anything close to shore on the East coast of England is certainly a challenge with at best 15m of water under your keel at peri depth..... ........Keep the Faith and Be the Hunter. :arrgh!:

On my second patrol(New game) I sank 2XC2, 1XC3 and large merchant...Much better, although I expended nearly all my torps on these sinking's....

I'm used to coming across dozens of reports etc, this is new, I didn't come across a single aircraft either, I did one thing though & that was to reverse engineer the all grey contacts because I am too lazy to go checking all the flags to identify if a ship is friendly, nuetral, or enemy!! I only hope for a little more action in the next patrol, also I should point out that I am using SH3 Commander, I hope there is no conflict here!:yep:
Thanks!

It's all in the quest for realism, and it started with RUB. Single ships are reduced greatly, and contacts with them are also reduced, both in frequency and range. Many real u-boats went for several patrols without ever encountering one enemy ship.
