View Full Version : Finally the Hurricane is firing itīs guns!

Youīll just have to change the Max fire range Value for AA Cannons in Sim.cfg file.
I have mine changed to 4000 atm.

The idea came back while reading this posting by CB:

there are some entrys that allow you adjust the AI gunnery rates etc--in the data/cfg/sim.cfg file (open with notepad)

[AI Cannons]
Max error angle=3 ;[deg]
Max fire range=6000 ;[m]
Max fire wait=12 ;[s]

[AI AA guns]
Max error angle=5 ;[deg]
Max fire range=1000 ;[m]
Max fire wait=7 ;[s]


i don't know how effective they are--
hehe i found out it can fire itīs cannons long ago, but had forgotten what i did changed to make it happend.

Playing around with those settings in the sim.cfg is real fun, you can make the warships make fire much earlier too (guess the AI Visual in AiSensors.dat has to be raised also)


(use the scapa singele mission to meet a hurri soon)

Wow!!! So many cool little game enhancements turning up that will make a MASSIVE difference!

Agree with Teddy! All those little things! That make the game more fun and a challenge!

Aircraft will do battle with one another if they happen to get close enough. However, I do not think there is substantial dogfighting AI. I once saw a Sunderland fighting with some JU-88's near Malta but they moved like trains on a track and did not pursue one another once they were out of machine gun range. None of the planes suffered significant damage.

The LRG Mod address all these issues and more. I have been working on this and testing it for over 2 months now. Its nearing completion and will bring a new level of imersion and gameplay to SH3. And yes, Aircraft do and will engaged each other and do battle. Thats ALL Aircraft.

As the last Screen shot shows, the surface engagement started at just under 29Km.
This is in Perfect weather conditions (calm sea's, no fog, middel of the day). At night the same mission, the engagement starts at around 4000m and gets damn ugly real quick. All matter of bits getting blown to hell. At night with Fog, they can fail to engage unless 1 side blunders right into the other, then its fast, furious and short untill they once more, get swallowed up by the fog.
