Sorry for the cliché title, but it seemed fitting. Anyway, I'm running into a strange bug where my VIIC type U-Boat will suddenly start falling through the water as if it is air. Its much faster than a normal dive, and usually I hit the bottom in just a few seconds, at which point my boat is "destroyed by collision". This is a seemingly random event, and doesn't always happen at the same time or point. In fact, the only time when I am sure it will happen is if I try to load a game.

Once I was able to get into deep water before this bug, and I descended to about 512 feet, which took roughly 30 seconds, before I suddenly stopped sinking. At this point the game just froze.

Oddly, I only seem to experience this when sailing out of Bergen. Normally I would just switch bases, but I want the XXI when it becomes available, and as I recall the XXI type was only available in Bergen.

I've got the following mods installed, as well as a modification to the radar range and also the removal of the deck gun, which I did through SH3 commander.

Gray Wolf 1.1
Atmosphere Mod V2 16km Light
Generic Contact Mod
Grey Wolves Nav Map Tools
Unified Campaign GW
Dowley New Smoke

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as right now I can't really play SH3, which is incredibly annoying because I just discovered the “Shoot” program.

One more thing, I noticed this bug shortly after removing the deck gun and adjusting the storm conditions for the U-Boat. Could that some how cause this?

This looks like a problem assiciated with flooding. Are you getting this at random? Or after a DC barrage? Did you have other mods before? You might made a mistake with installing / uninstalling previous mods. What mods do you have (unloaded* right now?

It's the first time I hear this problem...:hmm:
