SH3Cmdr R2.5 is available via the link in my sig. I'm just waiting for some final input from NYGM, GW and Hemisent and SH3Cmdr R2.6 should be ready.

JScones. I do enjoy SH3 Cmdr. I nice little prg.

I love to go and and check after each patrol and se the names of the ship ive manage to sink and also se statistic about my progress.

Altough i have a request maybe for future plans/release of your prg.

Just to read about the shipnames add a more imersive realism but i would like to have more info about each ship.
I know its maybe not realistic to have that information all time but often the sub asked survivors about the shipname, cargo, route etc if it was possible.

It would be cool if we could get some more info on maybe not all ship we sink but perhaps on few of them.

Like this:

Name:Bennestvet
Type:Steam merchant
Tonnage:2.438 tons
Date of attack:15 Jun, 1942
Nationality: http://www.uboat.net/books/images/flag_norway_s.gif Norwegian
Fate:Sunk by U-56
Complement:25 (12 dead and 13 survivors).
Convoy: Route:New Orleans - Cristobal
Cargo:War material
Notes on loss:At 20.00 hours on 15 Jun, 1942, the Bennestvet was hit by a torpedo from U-56 and sank within one minute. Eleven Norwegians and one foreigner died, the first engineer was the only surviving officer. The U-boat surfaced, questioned the survivors and gave them two loaves of bread. A few days later the survivors were located by an aircraft, were picked up by a patrol vessel and taken to Cristobal.

Iam not sure if its possible to implant it or if it require to much work but perhaps little more info than just the ship names would be real cool.

Yeah, just got into SC - using 2.4 now. Really adds some nice stuff. Great job by Jonesoft. What will be the diff between it and 2.6?

That would be fantastic !! and a wonderful addition.
I fear it would be alot of work to set up but would be worth the wait I am sure.

Correction: it would take a monstrous huge amount of work. It would actually be easier if you edit it into your patrol log yourself.

I guess I should have used larger text..LOL

That may not be a bad idea and people may be able share there attack stories, maybe a simple fill in the blank template could be included for all the skippers to fill in, along with a place to insert a screenshot ??

That's not a bad idea. I've just come across a source on Japanese merchants with exactly that kind of info. That could be used to create a randomised database for SH3 Commander (after all, from that point of view a ship is a ship); it could be done, possibly without as much work as I thought.

If not randomized to show up in Commander, at least I (or someone) could just make lists of cargoes / crew saved/lost etc. that players who wanted that type of info could use to draw ideas from.

In fact all aviable info about various ships and fate can be found here:

http://www.uboat.net/

click on the link to right side called: Events on this day. Then click each ship names.

Maybe if some contacted the wed admin of that site so they could share some of the info.

Its not necessary to have info for the hole war but maybe just enough so a data base can be built so it can show some difference and so the info will not be the same.

When it comes to the part :Notes on loss. That can be a tricky part so it show how u actually sunk that ship.

Only solution is that u can type manually for your self in the captains log if u want some info on that.
Like former poster said :) a blank field that u fill in for your self.

There's a huge difference between R2.4 and R2.6...

2.4.1 (special release)
- Now filters out non-SH3 added entries in the Log_x.cfg files

2.5.0
- "Simulate a realistic career length" parameters now editable via "Career options.cfg" file. Retirement is now based on the number of completed patrols multiplied by the total number of days spent at sea
- "Randomised days spent in base" parameters now editable via "Career options.cfg" file
- "Simulate realistic crew transfers" parameters now editable via "Career options.cfg" file
- Added ability to randomise essentially any value in any data file used by SH3
- Added ability to set the first patrol grid when starting a new career
- Added ability to randomise next patrol grid based on Flotilla and date
- Added ability to view SH3 Grid Map from "Change" screen
- Added ability to play (random) .wav files in Nightclub
- Added French translation to the Nightclub and NewsMod plus corrected other minor typos in the French language files (by Martin)
- New "RenownAwardedEqualsRandomTonnage" key added to "Ship displacements.cfg" to provide support for NYGM Tonnage War mod
- "Medals and renown.cfg" file renamed to "Basic changes.cfg" to reflect true scope of the file
- Added new fatigue model - Grey Wolves 8 Hour
- Minor code revisions

2.6.0
- Added ability to change crew officer faces (includes automatic 3D head and hat wearing alignment)
- Crew transfer message now includes crewman's main qualification
- Added new "Static settings" feature
- Changes to "Randomised events.cfg" file - refer to instructions in header of file
- Improved backup mechanism for scene.dat and Basic.cfg files
- Improved copy mechanism for unique crew configurations
- Randomising new crew names now includes number of patrols, certain medals and experience (ie you're no longer limited to a purely "green" crew everytime you start a new career)
- US rank labels are now the same as stock SH3. SH3 Commander does not support rank "bumping", that is, changing your starting rank to anything higher than the SH3 default
- Crew Manager now warns where crewmen have been awarded the U-boat War badge prior to 13 October 1939
- Now looks for and runs SH3Weather if it exists just prior to launching SH3 (when in base during or at the start of a career)
- Added new fatigue model - Grey Wolves 24 Hour
- Added ability to randomise main screen banner - refer to "!!BANNER INSTRUCTIONS!!.txt" under the Banners folder
- Minor adjustments to all Cfg files

Any chance we could have a configurable crash dive depth ? This subject poped up in WaW forums and it was felt a configurable crash dive depth would be very handy in light of the Anti Huming Bird mod ?

Cheers, Hans

Depends exactly what you mean. If you want to set specific values, you'll be able to do it with the new "Static settings" feature.

Randomisation of the crash depth value will be included by default as part of Hemisent's malfunctions/sabotage mod addition to the "Randomised events" feature.
