Guys,
Could you please let me know what are the various combinations of weather that are experienced in game.

I want to make sure that when testing the AI Visual mod that we test it in every possible condition.

there seems to be some funny ones where to get rain you need heavy cloud, which for some reason gives you fog? is that what happens in game, I reallt need to pay better attention to the weather.

Teddy just let me pack my Ölzeug, the crew and food and i'll be off with my IIa to test some wonky weather patterns for you!

:arrgh!:

Here are some weather pattern from my last patrol's KGB.

1 Clear, no rain, no fog, wind 15
2 Clear, no rain, light fog, wind 15
3 Overcast, no rain, heavy fog, wind 6
4 Overcast, med rain, heavy fog, wind 7
5 Overcast, med rain, med. fog, wind 0

More to come!

I know im being slighly sarchastic, but this is the truth.

Weather wise, as say in terms of fog/rain/clouds, etc.

Ill go through LONG stretchs of:
- partly cloud no rain
- light fog, overcast, no rain.
- heavy fog, heavy rain,

Winds.. ill have BREIF periods of happy weather, and then the winds will blow 15 kts for weeks on end, incessantly, and it drives me nuts. Which is why occassionaly ill run an edited scene.dat which stops the wind changes, and force a 7 kt wind for the entire patrol. When ive had enough of that, ill remove that scene.dat and put the other one back end, and be back to 15 kt winds forever , and ever, and ever, and ever tell the end of time!

Well i don't thing the Kaleuns back then had the power to "change" the Scene.dat God wrote! They had to put up with it!;)

True, but in terms of gameplay, or game enjoyment, its just aggrivating. I like heavy winds.. just not ALL THE DAMN TIME. I do primarly long range patrols, and im not kiddng - i have sailed from lorient, to the florida coast, up the US east coast, to new york, and back accross to lorient again, and it was 15 kt winds the entire time, without break.

That, is just simply maddening.:damn:

OK Ducimus! I pass!:o
I mean i had a few patrols that were the epitome of bad-weather-ness! Like Sailing from Kiel around the Tommieland to the bay of Biskaya. Bad weather all the time! Will mean 15 wind.
But your trip beats that for sure! Can't imagine the fatigue of the crew you must have had! Or the strain to the boot!

Have you tried the SH3Weather 1.02. This i recently discovered, and gotta say i start to like it.

Yeah i tried it, but i couldnt quite descern the bennifitt.

Stock (whatever stock is for the 16K scene. dat with 5 hour weather change in map layers) Weather changes are just right to me. well.. almost... a tad long.. but its ok.

Wind changes.. its like, you'll have a couple hours of moderate 6, 7 kt winds.. then a 12 kts for another couple hours., then 15 kt winds for anywhere between 15 to 30 days. then a quick break in the weather when its a dead calm. then an hour of 6 kt winds, then 15 winds again for another 15-30 days. :shifty:

I got frustrated in the Caribbean last night with a week of bad weather, medium to heavy fog, rain, and overcast (in various combinations ). I understand that, besides hurricanes of course, bad weather will come, for example tropical rainstorms and are over quickly. You don't get days of fog AFAIK. So what I am trying to say what can be done about getting regional climatic conditions right as well? Especially as I sailed from France so it would be nice to get changing weather patterns.
