Hi All,
I had started a new career, sunk 2 skips (visually), went back to port....no ships sunk on stat. log or anywhere else.
any one know a way to correct this?

Avoid upgrades on first patrol, or on first part of in port autosave, specifically upgrade on "before patrol 2", not on "after patrol 1". Also do not save/restore before damaged ship sinks completely.
Clear as mud ?

Well I had not done any upgrades at all!
So is this some bug? Is there a way to manually log the ships that I sunk?
HuH? :)

I quote JScones
If the sunken ships are recorded in the patrol log but the credit is not carried over to the career log, then the usual cause is through upgrading U-boat equipment prior to commencing the first patrol in a career. It's a well known stock SH3 anomaly - the other side effect being that your career and flotilla start dates are not saved either.
The fix is to not upgrade prior to commencing the first patrol, or if you must, save your patrol *just* prior to docking. Apparently, assuming that no credit is recorded after you dock, reloading the last save game and docking again seems to correct it for most players.
The other possibility is through saving the game during the "heat of the battle". It's always best to save well before or well after confrontation. In between increases the likelyhood of ships that you *thought* you sunk not being recorded (it also seems to contribute to corrupt save games). Although if you are 100% sure that you saw the "She's going down" message then the ship sinkings should still have been recorded. But again, I've read of players saving during battle only to lose the sinkings when they finish. So best not to do it anyway.
And... bad weather will take credit for some of your sinkings from time to time.

I got that on my last patol (6) went into LE took out a Nelson and a Fiji and a T2 and left while sailing out I would say about 20-40knm from the loch zoomed out on my nav map anda discovered a Large TF heading towards me well about 10 deg to my starbord plotted a course to intercept and got there in front of them 2 C class DD's 1 J class 1 Cruiser (Southampton class) and a Illustrious class Carrier fired 4 fish towards the carrier heared a torpedo impact but got no message enemy destroyed turned back towards LE and headed in found out that there were 3 warships in there not long before I would say 40 mins before I trashed a Nelson in there and a Fiji went back into the loch and I was Gob smacked to find out the nelson was back afloat so was the fiji fired 2 fish at the nelson first hit just under the z turret and the second hit around her engine room from my peri seen multiple explosions and see went down but no enemy unit destroyed message 30 secs later the fiji got it both fish midships exploded in a fireball and went down but no message eneemy unit destroyed 4 fish basically fired for nothing looked at my log and love and behold some how I got credited with sinking a Carrier but no nelson or fiji second time round but hey were visible and floating (the Nelson was low in the water but she was afloat I don't have a cle why I wasn't creditted with anouther kill on the nelson,.
I really don't know what it is 3 times into LE and 3 time's the Nelsons there. 36000k easy am starting patrol 5 next time I fire the game and am a LT Commander already.

Well, I started a NEW career .... followed all rules stated by everyone. Saved after VISUALLY SINKING 2 ships. I only saved after sinking a ship and sailing away ...no time compression.
After I save the game and exit and re-start the game ....looking at the saved career, the menu says 0 ships sunk on each save.
I have played this sim for over a year and never had a problem before.
The only mods I am using are;
All GW mods
Real Water fog
Not your grandmothers ship damage etc
Officers icon
Sinking rates mod
GW 24 hr Fatique mod
Anyone have any ideas why? I am frustrated! :damn: :damn:

As sickening as it is... Stock SH3 Save-game routines are simply screwed up and cannot currently be fixed. This is NOT a new bug introduced by the GW mod.

Kpt is correct. This IS a SHIII issue, not a GW one.
The issue will be more pronounced with any slow sinking mod, such as the NYGM Ship Damge Mod.

Are you using the NYGM Modpack on top of GW? Or just the damage model? GW already uses the NYGM model.
What is the sinking rates mod? Where did you find it? I'll have a look and come back.
Did you get the "ship destroyed" message? If you leave the area (radius of ~34 kms) before it is sunk, you are not credited; but I guess this is not the case.

Has this been proven?
When I tested, ~34k is the furtherest I got before the ship sank. That is, I never got further and the ship sank.
While I cannot with all confidence say you can get 50k away and get credit, I can say that I would be inclined to think this is more the case than not.
However, as the Germans said, better to sink a little than to damage much.
