I was at base, St. Nazaire, (using SH3 Commander) and could not find out where or how to change the assigned patrol area. Can anyone help?

You gotta be back at port. Then SH3cdr will enable you to change grids. Click on the "Next Patrol Grid" in SH3cdr to change it to whateva you want.

Will SH3 Commander allow me to change my starting position on a patrol? These ports are a PAIN in the ASS ( :damn: ) to navigate out of. Brest, Lorient... Suck. :yep:

So, you mean I have to exit the game and go back to just SH3 Commander? I'm not quite sure once I've launching the game via SH3 Commander and have been assigned a patrol area when in the "Office".

Hi Rob,

You should complete all changes you want to make in SH3 Commander before you launch the game from SH3 Commander.
Spend some time going through the SH3 Commander menus, and you'll be amazed at everything you can change.

It is easy to edit using the "Next Patrol Grid" feature that was mentioned up above.

Good Luck

I'll remember that for the next patrol. I've already started my patrol. However, I am not getting the "Radio Broadcasts yet" I've been playing the gramophone since I started and it's been over 24 hrs and no news broadcast.

So, if I understand you, I choose my patrol grid while in SH3 Commander, then launch the game?

No, but if you bump the "When near land" TC option up to 512 or something, then you can plot your way out of the port and use the higher TC to get out quicker (just those bloody friendly planes and ship sightings that keep knocking your TC back to 1).

Thanks JS - I assume that's a config file option?...

The radio broadcasts are very well randomized. You might go through two or three patrols without ever hearing one. You might also hear the same on three or four times a day. No telling when they'll come.

As for the Grid assignment, yes, you must change the grid in SH3 Commander before going on a new patrol.

Also, there is nothing keeping you in the assigned grid after you've completed the 24-hour requirement for extra renown. You can go anywhere you like, no penalties.

Thanks squig. :)

Before I saw your post, I downloaded SH3C and changed it via that. :D

Have to say, for me, perhaps my favorite mod feature so far. Always loved having half my crew tired just leaving port.

The "When near land" TC option doesn't affect the level of fatigueing, the "When in 3D views" TC option does.

Players must always ensure that their "When in 3D views" TC setting (titled "3DRender" in Main.cfg) matches the fatigue model they are using. For example, running the RUb fatigue model with a 3DRender setting of 1024 will see your crew buggered before you're out of port. The converse is also true (I know IUB1.02's model required a 3DRender setting of 1024 to work as designed - dunno whether the same is true for IUB1.03).
