Hi all,
I've a problem : I can't see any target the officer report beyond 8 Kms. I've the same problem with UZO, periscope ... and in any version of SH3 (GW, IUB...)
Anybody know this problem ?
Thank for help
And sorry for my english

my officer reports ship spotted and its often 14k away and i cant see it either
i just move the periscope to the heading he shouts out and press " L " when the triangle appears in crosshairs on scope. You shouldnt be able to see that far anyway from a sub - too low down to see over horizon

You should be able to see 15 miles in good visbility, I believe.
The SH3 world is only 8km in radius. There is a 16km visibility mod available.

Ok, I'm using GW. Then, I go to try the 16Kms mod.
Thank you for your answer :)

It's 16km, not 12, and you can find it here: www.u-boot.realsimulation.com
Or you can find it packaged in Grey Wolves.
I wouldl like to try the visibility mod, not sure exactly where to find it . I am playing with the standard SHIII (no greywolves, etc). Is there a "stand alone" visibility mod? Are there any reported "side effects"? Thanks, Joe S

One "side effect" is the added CPU power necessary for it. Other than that, I don't know of anything. Stats like detection range have been modded so that they work with the mod, so that's not an issue (not only can you see longer, your watch crew can, too;)).
As for where to find it, I don't know. Bah, just download Grey Wolves and the 1,1 patch and it'll be there. It's a very good mod, worth the download.

As Sailor Steve said, it can be found here: and you can find it here: www.u-boot.realsimulation.com (http://www.u-boot.realsimulation.com)

By side effects I assume you mean does it change things other than just increasing visibility. Answer is it sure does:

You were wise to ask first.
In fact I too would like a visibility mod that changes only visibility. The ones I saw at Real U-Boat has something wrong with the download link....all I get is a bunch of jumbled code when I select either one.
If you find one please spread the word.
