Having just seen this great looking sim on my local Game shelf, ready for release in 2 weeks here in the UK, I decided I woulld really like the superb looking manual that is available in the US.

Problem is, it costs a fortune to order it from the US and ship it over here, and it also says to allow 6 weeks, so I was wondering if there is anywhere in the UK where I can order it from.

I appreciate that the game has the manual on the CD, but that's not quite the same.

Also, I see that Game.net in the UK have an exclusive package which includes:

An exclusive extra mission & 4 bonus in depth manuals.

I was wondering if these 4 bonus manual might basically be the 570 page manual broken down into smaller manuals.

Does anyone have any further details on this Game.net exclusive ?

You can view it here:

Any help for a new sign-up would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin.

You are right, the 4 manuals are basically the full blown one plus the mission editor manual (which so far is only available as PDF).

I am from the Uk orderd mine last year played it and love it, not new to subsim's but the manual isnt worth the paper its printed on the CD one does perfect i know its not the same but the manual lacks alot of things.

take a look at www.subguru.com on the downloads page theres tonnes of tactical and helpful manuals that are not included in that big bulky 570 page one, whats more our small and many manuals cover nearly everything together.

I have written a guide to under ice operations mahuja has written a guide for the frigate and many more also, many fleets out there that do train people to use this game as a special art, multiplayers and what not.

I can say all you will need to play this game effectivly is the manuals from subguru and your away, theres other sites out there to like www.orionwarrior.com and a few others (see links page)

Thanks for the info guys.

I decided to order the Game exclusive edition, even though it is double the cost of other e-tailers :nope:

Still, I'm sure the manuals and extra mission disk will be worth the extra outlay.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers,
Kevin.

Got to agree Kapitan. Although I've only got the demo at the moment, some of the available extra documentation really is excellent.

Have you played the demo yet? Trust me...it isn't that easy beating the Kilo mission. Well, for me, anyway. :88)

No, I only just discovered this game today, so as it is due out here in a couple of weeks I thought I would just wait for the actual release and then I can get into it in a major way.

Looking forward to the challenge !

I would try out the demo. If you want to complete all the missions, after you've tackled the campaign or before, you'll have to tackle them eventually as the demo is part of the missions in the game. It'll also give you some idea about graphics and you can learn all the stations on two platforms. I used it like a tutorial....
