i have some 3ds files of a spitfire/wildcat/p38/mustang and B17
Try as i might i can do nothing with them - have 3d studio max 8 i acquired lol
perhaps i just too stoopid
was hoping to make some aircraft for the game but eh
any easier to use programs than studio max out there ?

I strongly suggest you Rhinoceros.
You can import and export files pretty easy.
Rhino is the most intuitive 3D soft around there.
For naval modeling it is unsurpassed because the smoothness of the curves.
You can create superb models with Rhino's NURBS (Non Uniform Rational B-Splines) and export them to 3D Studio for the final render with V-RAY for example; or, transform them in another file format from 3DS.
3D Studio's polygons? :down: :down: :down:
NURBS is the right path, if you are looking for precision. :up: :up: :up:
