View Full Version : I need MOD help!!!
I see there are some big mod's out there but am unwilling to try each one. The Grey Wolves pack, Improved U-boat 1.03, NYGM Tonnage War, AOTD-Modpack v2.0 and update v2.02, Rub 1.45, and finally Frontflotille 2.0 all look good from descriptions, but which has the best eye candy and sound? I'm not concerned with absolute realism, but then again I don't want the cargo ships lining up in front of my tubes. As of right now I'm leaning towards the Frontflotille mod even though it came out last year. Any suggestions from seasoned vets out there?
Thanks...

Grey Wolves for sound and graphics plus some excellent gameplay.. NYGM for ultimate realism and an excellent redone Mediteranean campaign. I only play the Med when i play NYGM and ive had a complete BLAST!!!

mods are all about taste! I think everyone will agree on that!
So you can only get, what YOU want, if YOU try the mods yourself!
However, GW is a lot about eye candy plus a certain degree of realism!
This I both like and dislike, meaning GW is meant for high-end pc's. In the GW1.1 patch however, help for slow FPS has been helped by smaller textures!
I have myself created an add-on with (a lot) more eye candy, and in my upcoming patch, which will include most of the GW1.1 patch, I hope to have improved slow FPS!
But it's up to everyones taste!

Best eye candy? Best sound? Not absolute realism? Take RUb off your list then. Its focus is the realism end of the spectrum. It does not include the sound and graphics that Grey Wolves for example has. IUB is based somewhat on RUb but is perhaps not too dissimilar to Grey Wolves in other respects.
But there's so much to consider - the specs of your machine for example will help shape what you choose.
You'll get a lot of opinion here - some maybe biased - but ultimately only you can decide what mod suits your gameplay best by reading the read me files and trying each one out. EDIT: Oh, beaten to the punch on that comment by Carotio.
FWIW, I currently run Grey Wolves, which I think is a very good "all round" product.
