View Full Version : Voice Commands???
I know it seems funny I had DW all this time but I was wondering about voice commands? Can you add that option after you installed or do you have to delete everything and start from scratch? Next, are the voice commands tough? To me it would seem more real then "clicking". Any thought on this would be great, thanks.

go to options and sound then enable speach talk key is W
Voice commands have gotten a reputation for being cool but not practically usable. Not only is there a lot you still can't do with it, often things you're supposed to be able to do just doesn't work. I think going to the sonar station is one example - it just stopped working after a while.
FWIW, it's a similar deal with 3d glasses like edimensional (http://www.edimensional.com/)'s or the z800 (http://www.3dvisor.com/products.php) from 3dvisor.com - most games "show their true nature" when such are used. Oblivion's trees, for example, appear flat, at the "depth" of the nearest leaf. "Trackmania nations" has cars in 3d, but those cars are otherwise placed on a flat screen. Plenty of similar cases.

Ultraboy: "Make your depth one-two-zero-zero feet."
DW: "Make my depth one-two-zero-zero-eight, dive aye."
Ultraboy: "Huh?!!"
DW: "Emergency surface!"
Ultraboy: "Ack! No! Go to ship control!"
DW: "Come right to course one-two-zero, aye."
Ultraboy: "???"
DW: "The starboard towed array has failed, sir."
...
Ultraboy tosses microphone in fireplace.

Really, though. I find the voice command option quite useable and convient... though my apartment neighbors probably don't know what to think when they hear me talking to myself! Just a matter of training the software to recognize your voice. :)
Quite an ingenious feature to include by the SCS team. Glad they did and hope more games think about this option in the future.

Well...Voice control can be little tweaked by adjusting Microsoft Voice Recognition Engine and your mic&sound recording settings in mixer(or whatever your card have)...There is slider where u can choose between accuracy and lattency(if my memory is right) so u can choose to have little delay but correct command..
However it can still be very funny when u start to shoot commands in hot situation and your voice recognition goes crazy.. :damn:
In that situation it become next to usles.. :smug:
