Hi martes86. Is it absolutely that RUb1.45 be installed into SH3? When I installed it, I lost the beginning movie sequence and the nav map I got had a ruler on the right side and in the TDC had a compass looking thing around my sub. I do NOT like this nav screen so do I absolutely neet it to run the game and install other mods? Robert.
You don't need RUb, and if those features don't suit you you should remove the mod. The movie sequence is removed because players got sick of seeing it; the nav map 'ruler' is a device for measuring how far a target ship will travel; the compass is for judging bearing. These latter things are necessary for plotting manual target solutions. If you're not to the point where you plot manually you won't need them, and if you're finding these annoying you'll probably find a lot of the other features of RUb will also be too complex or too difficult. RUb is geared towards the hardcore player who has spent a lot of time with the game and who really wants a simulation to be as realistic as possible.

Thanks for the explanation Beery. Now that you have explained what RUb1.45 is all about, I can understand why the ruler and compass are there. However, because of my complex medical problems, I cannot read the ruler and really do not need the compass because I do not, nor can I play at the complexity of manual targeting, therefore I do not need those features. The only thing I did like about RUb1.45, was the white dials which make those "more readable" for me. But I can do without that if I lose it when I do not use or like the other features. The movie introduction does not bother me so that doesn't matter, but I did kinda get used to that appearing before the loading of the game. I congratulate those that prefer and can do manual targeting, but my mind cannot handle those types of situations any more. If I could, manual targeting would certainly be a greater challenge and thus more realistic to the game play of being a sub commander. Robert
