View Full Version : New Sliding Stations Panel Mod - Update
Hi all, Thanks to Jonz for his Large Recognition Manual that was a must :up: however I could not view the bottom half as it was covered by the Stations Panel, I then installed FLB Sale U-999's Simfeeling Mod, but didn't like the large dials & when in nav map moving to the right either scrolled the map or brought out the dials!
So I thought I would rather see the whole Stations Panel slide away when not needed! this gives an almost free external view so I then adjusted the Menubar to slide right away as well! :D
I am not able to post screenshots so you will just have to give it a go! I also redesigned the menubar icons, if you don't like em ditch-em! :88)
There are 2 tga files I used but not sure who created them so a special thanks to them, however please PM me if you wish to have your files removed, I will understand!!
Please post your opinions & if there is a better way to improve this please let me know also.
Cheers,
Reece.

Thank goodness...a readme with the modifications needed to the Menu_1024_768.ini file instead of another replacement file.
Looks cool. Will give it a shot. :yep:
EDIT: On further thought which Menu_1024_768.ini was this mod made for? GW? NYGM? RuB?
Seems like every mod has their own unique one. Which one did you test it on or should it work with all?
I'm using HT147 but see no reason that it shouldnt go with any version your running. If you still have the Panel at the bottom with the 3 Groups: Officers - Messages - Dials, then it should be ok, this mod works with the Stealth meter on or off. :D
You may have to change the ID number on the parts you are replacing but, I think they are only one number off, mine were.
What version are you using? I'm using 1.4b, I can't think of a mod that modifies these blocks, if your using 1.4b do you know the mods affecting this part of menu_1024_768.ini ? :-?
Thanks.

An update to resolve an old problem with a Black Bar where the stealth meter is displayed, in the supplied version I covered this by making the backgroung transparent with the Bkgr.tga file!
Change the [G3F I138] block with the following:
[G3F I138]
Name=Group msg top bar
Type=1026;Menu group
ItemID=0x3F120000
ParentID=0x3F0C0000
Pos=284,-10,404,22
Color=0xFFFFFFFF
Now you can use the supplied Bkgr.tga file if you want the background transparent or remove it for a black background. :D
Will change this in a later version after more feedback! :up:

You have two links in this post. The second one is imcomplete and does not work. On the 2nd link you left off the" .rar.htlm"
What are the changes in the update? I have 1.0 and it works perfectly.

Great! I've been looking for this!
Now I can get the TDC mod for periscope working!
Thank you!
Reece, I am using 1.4b with GW patched/NYGM TW/NYGM TW terrain add in/EUC. One of the above must have added a block in causing me to have to up the numbers by 1 so (example) [G3F I89] would become [G3F I90] and so on.

I didn't notice any blocking when I loaded the new Recognition Manual, but that's probably because I'm also using FLB Sales' Simfeeling 6-Dials mod, which leaves the screen clear all the time as well.
That said, I like you solution, Reece. Looks good.
Thanks all, I hope it suits your needs!
HWS, do you know the name of the mod that changes your blocks?
I may have to further adjust the readme to reflect the fact that these blocks may not be the same! If the 3 stations are still used in your version of SH3 1.4b then the mod should work ok! :)
Irish, sorry about that, have adjusted it, have also tested and downloads ok for me! I have upload to http://u-boot.realsimulation.com as well :up:

Oh crap!! wouldn't you know it, I discovered an error, how I made this typo I don't know, the screen is 1024x768 & for some reason I made the pull down area from 1 (Left) to 1000 (right) instead of 1024! :damn:
Please edit the Block [G3F I33] & change 'Pos=0,141,1000,140' to 'Pos=0,141,1024,140'
If you have tried to change the game speed the menu would slide away! :88)
Sorry about that!
Reece, the blocks are all there, and the names are the same so they are easy enough to find.

Reece Help !! I can't download the sliding dials mod as I get a message saying file has been deleted ?! Is the Mod still available and if so, would it be compatible with Grey Wolves via JSGME ? Hope you or some-one out there can help as I like to have a full view with these things tucked out of the way.
Hi, just click on the link at the bottom of my signature, tested & is still there, Just have to rename the file to Sliding_Stations_Panel_v2.rar.
If there are still probs let me know, always glad to help.:up:
Cheers.

Hi Reece thanks for the info and have followed your readme.. the bottom completely disappears.. fantastic ! .. I also like the new cool icons on the left-hand slide bar only it doesn't completely slide out of the way; is that what the 4 additional files (G31 Scrolling stuff) are for ? Do they need to be added into the Menu via Notepad ? Anyway, thanks for that .. your stuff is always good !
Yes!:D
PS. That was short!

Got it, the whole 9 yards ! :up: Nice to have a full screen with no distractions at the side or at the bottom (even managed to drag that wooden clock thingy into oblivion !). Once again, a big thank you to you and the great work that you do !
