That cool
One thing I really am very dependant on is the nomograph,
I love using it for my plotting and it helps me pass the time because I also use it ,
Any chance ;)

me too.
That is one really useful tool - it makes plotting courses of target ships much quicker as you don't need to use the angle measurement tool anymore.
Good thing to revive this little gem, jcwolf!

Well bro i've got an Ati Radeon 9200 bro and tested this 2 mods before and detected no problem, but that was exactely why i add the 1500 mts also, in case someone could need it...!
Man with the Mod enabler you can install it and see wich one you prefer...

I take it this is a change you should only make in port? I tried adding the 3000m one (after a SH3 Commander rollback, of course) while out on patrol, and saw no change on my nav map screen. Are you supposed to do something in game to "activate" this, or should it just be there if the install worked? Or, since I'm using a Radeon card (X800XL) is it maybe just not working for that reason?
I missed this mod way back when and have been wishing there was something to make the bearing circle show up at higher (lower?) nav map zoom levels (which I assume is what this mod deos - is that correct?) Would really love to get it working - any suggestions?

Both versions are only visible at 2500 zoom, so to be sure you've got it right, just zoom on the navigation map until 2500 mts and it will apear, also i'm using SH3 Comander and installed mid patrol and it worked fine...
With the Radeon card i understand there was some kind of isues with the 3000 mts bearing tool but i've got a Radeon 9200 XT and it works fine, if it doesn't for you install the 1500 meters Bearing , thats why i add both versions...
Also after install and enter the game be sure to zoom as i said it before cause it is only visible when the map scale on the bothom left is at 2500 mts...

I play on an ATI Radeon x800xl and the 3000 version shows up just fine on my computer. I'm using Catalyst 6.3 drivers. They probably fixed a bug in the drivers that was responsible for the problems many versions ago. ATI Radeon users should be able to use which ever version they like! yeah! :)
Excellent work!

Guess I'll have to try the 1500m version - I checked and the 3000m version wasn't showing up at the 2500m zoom level, even after I updated to driver version 6.4 (was running 6.3 before) - I'll try to give it a shot later tonight and see what happens.
[edit] Well, that worked - the 1500m version's circle appears at the 2500m zoom level, BUT the numbers are so small I can't read them unless I zoom down closer - kinda defeats the purpose :rotfl:
Any chance you or someone can make a simplified, "big number" version for us old-timers, maybe like the original one where not all the numbers are there but the ones that are there are big enough to read easily? Sure would appreciate it :)
Bro, the purpose of the tool mainelly is to provide you in close looks the way to navigate faster and trace cources for navigation or interception easelly without the Compass help all the time...
so if you need to trace a cource ar rote, you have to do it at 2500
if you whant to see it, but to intercept an enemy ship it's better zooming to 1500 or lower ... and there the numbers are very visible...

Actually, I generally use the bearing overlay to plot the target course and speed upon initial surface intercept, when I'm usually 8KM away (give or take) - I'd like to be able to simply draw a line bearing (for example) 75 degrees to a range of (for example) 7,200m. Unfortunately, by the time I zoom in close enough to see the bearing circle, I can only draw a line about 2-3KM long, so I have to draw that partial line, then zoom back out (losing the bearing circle along the way) and try to extend the line out to the full 7,200m without screwing up the bearing from my sub in the process. It would be so much easier if I could see the bearing circle while I was still zoomed out far enough to draw a line that would extend 8-10km or so from my boat.
By the time I am close enough to the target to be able to see the bearing circle and the target position on the same zoom level, I don't need the bearing circle anymore - I can maneuver into position by that time just fine by "feel" alone.
That's why I would like a bearing circle that you could see (and read the numbers on) at the 2,500m or even the next higher (lower? further out, anyway) zoom level. Any chance of making such a bearing circle with big, readable numbers?
Sorry mate didn't had time to bread this last cople of days... :dead:
For that to be possible a bearing that the numbers could be visible at 2500, it would have to be change either the numbers of the
bearing size bro...I would discart this last one cause it would enlarge considrebly the size of the overall tool when zoomed, purhaps it can be done if the distance of the 1500 mts bearing would be reduced to say 500 mts, but then again it would lose other funcionalitys and tool uses, cause when you're at 500 mts from a target you almost don't need the bearing to to intercept and distroy...or follow..
The numbers can be recsised i think...
Hi guys , after a long search for this mod i finally found it, but links are broken, could someone refresh links plz... im looking for this 3000m bearing mod for 1024x768, if someone have his mod please share it with me.
