Have you noticed that the sound of water splashing
against bow and conning tower is gone in GW?

The standard wave, sea sound is there, but I can't here
extra loud splash sound in ex cam view.

Is it just me?

In external view when you move a certain distance away from the boat you lose that sound... or "can't hear it" due to that distance.
You should be able to hear it again when you close distance with the cam.

Hi, Kpt.!

Thanks a lot for the quick answer, and for
great GW mod!

I can't hear the sound even when the cam is
right before the bow, or when I'm on conning
tower(F4).

Another question is that, I just finished my 5th
patrol (March 22, 1940), and I haven't seen
any enemy aircraft so far although I sailed close
to the British Isle a lot. Is this normal?

Thx, again!

Hmmm... regarding the sound... you "should" hear it as I described. It seems to me that possibly people have some really unusual sound set-ups. Before answering any new question I check with my "user's copy" that I DL'd from Terrapin's site. If it works fine on my copy in-game... all I can suspect is user settings, additional mod conflicts, or corrupt downloads.

Regarding the aircraft...

It will be a different story from the latter part of 1942 onwards...

Enjoy the peaceful skies while you can. :|\

I've noticed that the missing bow splash sound often occurs with the type VIIB boat, but returns once I've upgraded to a VIIC or a IX. This is a problem that has been around since the vanilla version, I think. Anyone else verify this?

Midshipsnake, could it be possible your game sounds settings have somehow changed?

I don't think so. I'm currently playing a GWX campaign with a VIIB. I'm going to upgrade to a C as soon as I can. Then we'll see. By the way, testing various subs in single missions verifies what I'm experiencing. VIIB has no bow splash sound. Other subs do. Go figure.

Hello to all.

Not my trouble the sound, rather the clouds. They have simply disappeared. You can see the moon and the stars in the middle of the most terrific atlantic storm:sunny:

Probably the trouble is with my graphic card, ATI Radeon 9200 128Mb, a bit obsolete.

In all other matters, GWX works fantastically. Many thanks to the dev team.

Welcome to the forum Klaus_Doldinger (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/member.php?u=225040). It is possible to get stormy seas without cloud cover and this does happen in SH3.
It might just be chance.
Has it happend in more than 5 storms?

Thank you, Letum.

Yes, it happens always; I have played more or less ten missions. Even when you leave the harbour and the WO says "clouds partial" you are not able to see any single cloud.

Beats me, try posting a topic about it.
