I installed the Readable Dials today Apr 5/06 and was going to install the Readable Compass but I noticed it overwrites the Readable Dials in the Layout directory. :-?

I was never informed about this. What does it do and where do I get it? Thanks for responding, Robert

If you're going to be modding SH3, no tool is more essential than the generic mod enabler. You can get it here (http://members.iinet.net.au/~jscones/software/products/jsgme.zip). Enjoy!

I tend to agree..the mod enabler is a godsend for this game.

So many mods are out there and many do tend to use the same files so they will overwrite one another.

Sometimes it can cause problems other times it wont hurt anything.

Take my list of mods used for example..

Grey Wolves v.1
No_Mines_No_Nets_Mod_For_Grey_Wolves
tankeriv_seafloor_mod_for_128MB_cards
SH3 Missions
Krillerssun Mod
Officer Icons Mod
Generic Contact Mod
DG-AA_Destabilized_v1.02 for GW Mod
Coastal_Tanker_Release_1.1_Converted_Whale_Factory _Release_1.1 for GW Mod

Grey Wolves was the first mod I installed. All overwrote files inside the mod but some were only graphical changes so it had no harmful effects if changed. The others were mods that overwrote Grey Wolves main files but were made for the Grey Wolves mod so again no harmful changes.

Once you learn what mods can and cannot work together you will learn what you can and cannot overwrite.
