Two problems on patrol

When ships were spotted and the notification screen came up I clicked on Engage and was told I had no helmsman??? Also, in the TDC, it shows a Pistol. What is that for?? I hate to be so stupid but where is my Helmsman?? :oops: I looked for him on the VIIB but could not find a person called Helmsman. Is it possible I have to go to Barracks and look for one?? Oh, I had my TDC on automatic but all my torpedoes missed. Not sure why. Could have been my positioning. But I was able to destroy a small merchant with my deck gun. I forgot how to change the distance and after firing about 10 shells I accidently touched my up arrow and the distance changed, stupid me. I took all the Naval Academy exams and received excellent rating. But it took me several training exercises to be able to take the exam. So, you can see that I have trouble thinking now. I am awaiting your reply before I install the exe program you told me to download. Thanks for your help. Robert

As for the helmsman, you don't need to go to barracks right now, just pick the officer from the bridge and add him into the empty spot
on the control room...
