View Full Version : I finnaly opened the Mission Editor :rotfl:
I now understand alot of things now. Don't know why I did not opened the editor long time ago. I tought it was only for single mission only or I felt it was too advanced for me...
Tonight I felt that it was finaly the time to explore it :88) . I think I get the most of it except for editing and merging...
I always tought that the modders like Rubini direclty edited the Campaign files in the note pad. True ? :88)
Is it possible to merge like IC RND layer with the ie GreyWolves RND layer with the editor?

Yes, but probably not a good idea, some potential exists of duplicating data...

-Well even if I work full time, 24hs per day...edit the Campaign files with notepad...no, it's impossible! :D
Only with the aid of the ME is possible to make big changes on the campaign files. And is needed to manually check for duplicate entries, spawn conflicts, and a lot of others things...welcome to the team!
Rubini.

Not notepad, Wordpad. At least thats what i use, and only when im looking for something very specifc in the RND layer. The find/search/ find& replace function works like a charm making alot of sweeping changes (IE changin all Crewrating=1 to CrewRating=2 , for example)

The mission editor is bugged. It has some kind of busy loop going on, so CPU usage is 100% always. Fun.
I never touch the RND by hand. I have some Perl code that touches it for me and can redo a whole version of IC in about 30 seconds. It's fun.

Yeah, but total development time was probably between 12 and 20 hours programming and debugging.
