Magnetic torps

I'm not a newbie, althrough I don't ever knew, what is the nearest distance of a magnetic torp.
I usually fire them at 500-1500 m, but what's up, if there is rough weather and we see only about 300 m? How can we nail ships in that circumstances?

For both magnetic and impact, the min distance_to_be_travelled is 300 m.

Not while playing chicken with a DD. For this you will need ~400 m.

If visibility is only ~300 meters, I don't do surface attacks. Try submerging and using the hydrophone. With some practice and accurate plotting, you can gather everything you need from the hydrophone.
