View Full Version : Skins over IUB?
All,
I'm trying to install Fubar's newest skins over IUB 102 via JSGME, but they don't show up in game. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Wrong folder, that's all I can say.
Make sure that when you are installing mod via JSGME that the folder has the required or appropriate folders to replace. Otherwise it will just end up anywhere in the SH3 folder, and will never get loaded by SH3.
JonZ,
Nope, all the folders are correct and JSGME warns me that I am overwriting the original files altered by IUB. :hmm:

That may sounds stupid, now I realised that IuB originaly have Fubar's skins already integrated in it. Well, most of it :88)
They are however at lower resolution , probably for insuring the performances stability.
OK,
I've done a little digging and it seems that any skin that includes .dat files will NOT overwrite the .dat files already altered by RUB/IUB via JSGME (ie: Fubar's IXB Splinter & VIIC Med Camo). Any skin that modifies just .tga files works fine. Any ideas (again :hmm: )

The Dat files are the default skins loaded in SH3. They are immediately replaced when the alternatives with the same name is found in the Texture/TNormal/Tex/ folder AFAIK.
Correct me if I am wrong but if you have a Texture in the Tex folder, the texture in the DAT file will not be loaded.
Oorah!
I've extracted all the.dat files (overwriting duplicates) into the Texture/TNormal/Tex/ folders for each skin and now they work fine!
Thanks!
Hitch :D
JonZ,
BTW, when do you expect IUB 103?
