Instruments Fixed - Night lights for ships..
Totally amazing whats possible with the hands and minds of some good modders!
But my question is: Is there someone out there workin on a room tilting fix? :hmm:
The behavior now is... totally crap. If you dive, the room is more twisted than tilted... or tilted wrong way.... or left... or right.. or it isn't tilting at all.
What i'd love to see, is a Zentrale (Command room) that is tilting WAAAAY forward on diving and WAAY backwards when surfacing/rising. :yep:
The shakin when hit by dc's is OK, guess thats the maximum out of the interior engine...
So - someone got his hand on this or an idea?
Or is something like that hopelessly burried in the cellar of a .dat file?
Thx in advance - Hunkey :know: :hmm:

I agree the tilting is crap....I have a pic of a crash dive on a real uboat...and the crew and everythign really leans almost at 45 degrees it looks like....but, models in sh3 stay perpendicular to the floor...I have seen the room lean in the VIIB I think some uboats lean more than others....but what I did notice is in order to get a noticeble lean you have to be at flank speed....when climbing or descending....but, it still dont think its the same lean as what would experience in real life....problem, is you cant adjust the forward and rear dive planes manually....if you could you would be able to mess around with extreme rates of diving and climbing.....because its all automatic....you have to order the right dive at the right depth in order to get the angle desired lean...most of the time the planes are set at small increments by the A.I. planesmen and they baby the ship so you never see a good lean....if that makes sense....its like you are stuck with preset dive and climb configurations....if you ever watch the planes during a dive you will see how they don't do anything like you see in the pic below....I have yet to see the forward planes dive at that angle..
Here is planesmen in a crash dive on u-604

No promises, but I MIGHT be able to increase the pitch angles while diving/surfacing. I also saw an entry that I believe might handle the "shock" effect when taking damage. I am going to run some tests now.
Fingers crossed....

I found that same "shock" value you speak of... and reduced it by half for nearby DC explosions... Now the external and internal visual effects of being depth charged appear much closer to realistic.
I imagine in real life there wasn't nearly as much swaying back and forth during actual DC attacks.... all that water would have a tendency to hold the sub steady and increase the "hammer" effect... But of course in-game keeping some of the effect is pretty cool.
Now if you increase and/or correct the interior visual pitch for diving and surfacing... WOW!!! That would rock.

Also, if you look at the front of the ship toward the radio room while the ship is leaning, then look toward the back of the ship, you'll see that the back of the ship is leaning in the wrong direction. It's as if both ends of the ship are the front. I think two people must have programmed the rocking code, and they were on a different page hen it came to which end of the ship they thought was the front.

EDIT: hey tikigod, I just responded to a post of yours but it disappeard :o Something about mapping a key to dive angle with integrated orders....weird cause its gone now.
Thats a bit too advanced for me :88) But it would be an awesome feature.
I am just referring to editing the camera values to appear that there is a greater tilt within the uboat interior. So its really just a visual tweak. Unfortunately its a no go so far  It doesn't mean that this can't be solved though...there is always a way.
Regarding the "shock" effect like Kpt. Lehmann has already found....this can be changed. So we'll leave that for the Grey Wolves mod.

Wow, you guys are amazing for sure
But i gotta say, the poor tiltl during a CD bugged me like hell too!
Best of luck in modding this! :arrgh!:

yeah, I got carried away and started to ask you about adjusting the tilt angle of planes manually and realized you were talking about just tilitng the room visually and not that of the planes......at first I thought you meant you found a way to adjust different angle presets......sorry for confusion....
my sh3 somehow corrupted while I was posting to you and never got back to the thread....I'm having a "stuck in pause during game load issue" that I haven't been able to resolve...

Sorry for this bump back from the dead, but only recently I discovered that the sausages and bananas and what else is hanging on the pipes in the back of the command room, are pointing it's lower ends to the front of the boat while ascending and the other way round when descending, which is the complete opposite of what they should do, apart from the fact that the room's tilt to the side is far more noticable then any tilt forward or backwards... at the moment I'm driving in an IX boat so I don't know if it's the same for the other boats too.
My question is: Did anyone come up with a fix for this, or is this not modable?
I'm using GWX btw
