Proper tool to use for drafting

Hello all

Wanted to make a few dials that I could print out, and make some quick calculators for myself. I know that a few of you have done that already, and I need your assistance.

I basically need to find some freeware tool that will allow me to draw a circle with defined tick marks around the parimeter, like a compass. I'd like to make something similar to that AOB calculator that someone posted before.

I know i've seen this ability in something I used before, but I can't find anything around. Or, if someone is willing to make the jpgs for me, that would be alright too I guess.

You need to choose a software able to save the CAD file as BMP, JPG or PDF (you can export a .PDF image as .JPG from Acrobat Reader).

When you have this image, you can process it in Photoshop or Corel Draw.

You will get something like this with a CAD software:

If I may ask, which program are you using? And, is what you did to accomplish the tests fairly easy to obtain? Or, is it buried in the options?

I used AutoCAD to make all of my dials and bearing/angle/aob calc. converters on paper, I'll have a look when I get home to see what I did with them if you're interested.

I don't know whether the person you were referring to was me or not, but I did make an AOB calculator made from two differently sized CDs printed with the AOB images on, then put into a 2-CD holder I saved from a magazine cover.
