Its Sunday, there's a documentary on the History Channel today "Deep Sea Detectives" on the sinking of the U-166, the only U-boat sunk in the Gulf of Mexico. Makes me anxious to get my Type IX-C so I can participate in Operation Drumbeat.

Its April '41 and I'm stationed in Brest. The tech chart shows the type IX-C becoming available sometime in 1941, anyone know exactly when in 1941 it becomes available, and do I need to transfer to another flotilla to get it?

OK, I transferred to 2nd flotilla, and the IX-B suddenly was available.

But my question was, when does the IX-C become available? I'm toward the end of April 1941, will it be much longer? The "?" on the sub upgrade screen shows that it becomes available sometime in 1941, but it doesn't say what month or what flotilla you need to be in. Thanks!!

For all the long range type IX boats you need either the 2nd or the 10th flotilla.

If you are using SH3 Commander and are in 2nd Flotilla you should get IXC in Jan41.
