Hello Jonz,

You might want to consider adding gouldjg's Holywood Advanced Damage for IuB and RuB. I'm testing it right now and did some tweaks to make it compatible with my system (because I don't use IuB or RuB) increasing "playability" and removed crew fatigue scheme. It's fantastic! :up:

I was looking for hollywoods mods yesterday but most of it are already included in IuB 1.02 or HT147.

I will take a look again, but the crew fatigue is removed already in IuB 1.02 ( crews never get tired :o)

Edit: yeah I looked through the RuB readme file and Hollywood Damage model was included since RuB 1.42. Maybe it need an update too.

Any chance of including the slide out mod of FLB sale U-999?

Thanks for your inputs everyone, I'll make sure to try each mods, see what they are doing and if it worth the inclusion.

Also, the pack is growing big, almost 1G uncompressed!

any hint to how to host that Zip file?

I also see many using 7z compression, is it compressing better than RaR? (I usually use incorporated Windows Zip).

The "Advanced" Holywood was finished afrer the last RuB (I think :roll: ). The dates of the Holywood files are 8th of November. I doubt this version is in RuB. Anyway, I have the impression that Beery made some changes in the Holywood model.

The version I have is the las while Gouldjg was discussing with Jungman the evolution of the Holywood model in to the Die Hard Mod. I have made and tested some tweaks in the zones.cfg, and removed all fatigue schemes. It's pure hardcore damage and slow death. It's great! I can sent it to you, but you better discuss it with gouilgjg. He's the damage man! :rock:

As for the special effect, it's great eye candy. I havn't installed it yet, but I read that it involves flying DD crew after any explosion. I also saw one post about a .wav file with the flying crew screaming. It's up to you...It's in the borderline of gore and political correctness...

For the comperssion, I wouldn't even think of anything else than 7zip. It's more than -10% in size. - Yes it's true -. Try it : http://www.7-zip.org/

As for hosting, I think you should talk to Terrapin. He hosts mods in www.u-boot.realsimulation.com.

:oops: I almost forgot: Also Jungmans RF, snorlel visibility and DC fix are a must. And, if tankeriv's seafloor mod (if it is not included in IuB).

Good luck! :rock:

P.S. Check the storm conditions in my XXI and IX/D2 fixes and compare with RuBs. I think that all uboats now can use the DG up to 9 (?) weather.

Well Default IuB version has Swatikaz on Bismarks, awards and places where it was hidden... will it be too much? For me it just replications of events. Adding it won't bother me neither.

Von,

after checking the Adv.Damage mod, it looks like it involve SH Commander, because of the fatigue model.

If I check the rar file, two folders are in there: SH3 Commander folder and SH3 files folder.

The Hollywood's readme aren't very explicatives to indicates how to install manually by coding. Do you know if the fatigue mod files are also part of the SH3 files folder, or unique to SH3 Cmdr?

If it only a SH3 Cmdr, then it shouldn't be a problem to implement in the IuB Upgrade pack.

Any chance of including the slide out mod of FLB sale U-999?

It not my first intention to integrate it. For many reasons;

for one - The gauges are too bigs and easily clog the screen
for two - Right slideout are a big no no, because it have too much issues (Like CTD etc.)
for three - Already have a slideout to left in IuB with the essential gauges.
for four - not essential for the gameplay.

I appreciate what U-999 made, it a really good mod but not enough stable to insure a bugproof upgrade of IuB.

Advanced Damage has 3 folders:

1,2) Library and Submarine, which should both (along with the zones.cfg) go under a data folder (if you wanted to JSGME it)

3) Sh3commander folder. This includes two files:

a) The "crew fatigue models", from which you should only get the "keys" (models) you want and copy them in your /sh3 commander/cfg/crew fatigue models.cfg . These models become options in SH3 Commander! But then, along with your IuB release, you should also include a /sh3commander/cfg folder.

b) The medals and renown the same, but without "keys", Basically, it's like having a second basic.cfg :up:

I havn't tested the values for Sh3Cdr in Advanced Damage, but will do.

Yep, that's what I tought. I have included the SFX version tonight without even worrying of write overs, works like a charm :p

I will inspect deeply deeply the files tomorow, I doubt there will be any issues since most of these file weren't in the 1.02 IuB pack except for that zone file.

:up:

And be careful with the zones.cfg! You will probably kombine :-j a new zones.cfg out of 2-3 mods. Same goes for basic.cfg.

I don't think that the latest version of Advanced Holywood includes SFX (flying crewmen).

Check your home mail. I sent you two versions.

Also a question. How does "decks awash" option is implemented in the last version of RuB? Can I find this fix seperately? (standalone).

Thanks

The deck awash feature was implemented in RuB 1.45. It only consist to lower the periscope depth value to 2 meters for each human playable submarines (cfg files in submarine folder). For what I've read, it doesn't have an impact on the stealth of your sub. And the crewmen can still man the deck gun :doh:. I am wondering here if I am making a good decision, but it all for the heck for having a full RuB 1.45 integrated with IuB.

JonZ,

You may want to take a look at Church's OBS Scope Mod. It's a very cool idea and it looks great. I believe he is still working on the red masks for it, otherwise it works great.

Great work JonZ!

You really will put IUB alive again! :up:

Before you release it can you send me the SCR/LND, locations and defside files? These are the essential files to HT work correctly(submarine folder for AI uboats too) and I could revise them for you. Another detail: I just update the submarine folder - Ai uboats- to use the cable fix and I made small adjust on the SCR fot HT to be released soon. Perhaps you can use them on new IUB. ;)

Cheers,

Rubini.

Cool, I will do. I cannot test all by myself and when all the major work will be done, I was planing to handle it to you since Orgy handled the continuity to you ;)

Doing that, we could make IuB to officially going to 1.03. All I did was named Upgrade Pack for IuB 1.0 :doh:

Hi,JonZ
This is a fix for NaviMapHintergrund mod that it isn't present in Harbour Traffic v 1.47
I have notice that the Leer.tga file in the NaviMapHintergrund mod hasn't a link in the

menu_1024_768.ini file so I add the following string to this file to obtain a pencil and a

rubber docked at the bottom of the map view instead of the blank image.

[G31 I25]
Name=Target;pencil and rubber
Type=1031;Stat bmp array
ItemID=0x31000006
ParentID=0x31000000
Pos=-0,130,1025,130
Color=0xFFFFFFFF
Materials=1
Display=0;No stretch
Mat 0=data/Menu/Gui/Layout/Leer.tga
Crop 0=0,0,1,1
MatFlags=0x9
TexFmt=0x9
Drag=false
BmpState=1
NeedFocus=true
SelOne=true
IdGroup=0
StatesColors=0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFF

(I have also clear a little the Leer.tga file to better match the the map background)
Perhaps you will consider to include this fix in your IUB 1.03 that I'm waiting for anxiously!
