This is kind of frustrating. I downloaded Fubar's new U-552 rusty type VII skin. I applied it to my boat, and per the readme of his first type VIIC skin, created Turm7c_#_deck files for numbers 3-5.
Here is part of that readme:
1x bridge deck(turm 2): with this deck if you make 3 more copies and change names to Turm7c_3_deck, Turm7c_4_deck,Turm7c_5_deck and place
these files in silenthunter3/data/textures/TNormal/tex folder then all conning tower setups will be covered.
I just figure it is the same with the rusty U-552 skin. When I use a new Type VII or Type II skin, I like to make a corresponding skin for AI sub use. I am using Harbor Traffic 1.47. I have converted skins numerous times. All the others work. I copied the AI skins and changed the corresponding file names. When I view the AI type VII sub in the museum, the conning tower shows the skin from Fubar's first Type VII skin. I had converted that skin for AI sub use. When I converted the U-552 skin, I copied the file names over to the U-552 files. All the files correspond. When I start a campaign mission, the AI type VII subs docked have Fubar's first type VII skin for the conning tower. However, when I meet one that is sailing, it has the U-552 skin conning tower. Anyone have an idea what I did wrong? Here are the file names for the U-552 AI skin if that helps:

I realise some of those files overwrite the player sub skin files, but seeing as I use the same skin as the AI subs at any one point in time, it is a moot point.
