Old Post:
Can someone explain cleary the differences in the crew models that are currently available? Like what the similarties and differences are? Alot of the readme files I am getting really don't clarify what they do. They explain certain things but, they all sound the same for the most part. So, I'm kinda confused to what the differences are other than the shifts and having micromanage or not micromanage.

All the ones with Hol on end are for Hollywood Advanced Mod but, I'm not sure what makes them special. I think they react to longer repair times by get tired more quickly than others but, I'm not sure. Like I said the readme was pretty bad at explaining it and the names above only somewhat describe what they could be. But, I'm not sure what any of them do. So, Im hoping to have a post here that will explain each one clearly for all that are new to these models understand.

The NYGM mod has already been released on this forum and is by far the best so far.
I think it has an about 18 hour cycle, but the most significant thing is that it puts much more emphasis on the sailors, and performance is actually based on morale: ie sinking ships raises morale and getting wasserbombed lowers it.

Yeah Living Crew Model for Advanced Hollywood Model says same thing as far as damage effecting moral in the Readme. But, I think it has more exhaustion based on repair times of each crew....So, I'm not sure if NYGM CMM has same thing. Its hard to distinguish one from the other just by reading the readme's and descriptions. But, the NYGM seems to be the clearest as far as a description is concerned. I think alot of it gets lost in translation. But, I posted all the fatigue models above in one cfg file if people want to try them out via SH3 Commander.

Sorry this is a month late, but I am only returning to SH3 now after a long absence. I downloaded this file - it's only 4kb big and only has a readme file. Can anybody help me because I really want to sort out my fatigue model and would like to play around with various ones.

I was depth charged for at least 2 hours today realtime and didnt see much of a crew endurance change (morale). Every1 still worked to peak effficieny, even tho I was losing morale.

The morale is the NYGM Crew Management Mod is lost in 3 way.

~ The first, and most important is through time. It will take 5-6 weeks for the Morale to reach its lowest level.

~ The second is through crew being injured, will need to check how many crew for Morale reach its lowest level.

~ The third is through crew being killed. I believe it is 3 or so crew for Morale reach its lowest level.

The morale is the NYGM Crew Management Mod is gained when ships are sunk. The Morale being gained when a ship is hit does not function.

It does take 2-3 ships to get from the lowest point to the highest.

When Morale is at Max, then the crew is good for an 18 hour shift. When Morale is at it lowest, then the crew are only good for 12 hours.

So this means that if you suffer 8 deaths, though it will be hard, you will still be able to bring your u-boat back to base.

This we feel will abstractly simulate the hardships experienced in a patrol and put an emphisise back into you being part of the team/crew, as your success, or lack of it, effect the entire crew.

Take the Crew Fatigue Models.cfg and drop it into your CFG directory of SH3 Commander (not the game)

"Program Files/SH3 Commander/CFG/"<----this folder

It is just a cfg (text) file. It isn't supposed to be big but, it saves the time adding all of the crew models.

You can check to see it is installed in SH3 Commander by selecting Exsisting career (name)-------->SH3 options---->Gameplay Settings
check: use fatigue model then you should see 13 added fatgue models in the drop down box....select which one you want to use then launch the game via sh3 commander.

Erm, what I am trying to say is that the file that Tikigod points to for downloading as 13 fatigue models together above, does NOT contain the cgf file. The downloaded zip file contains ONLY a readme.

I'll try again, but I have downloaded it several times. There is only one file, the readme, and I haven't had any problems with all my other mod downloads.

Yep, downloaded it again - 3KB file, it has one folder, and one file: 'readme.txt'

Please please please, if someone has the full file from Tikigod (I don't imagine it is big), can you mail it to me please:

rustix at synapses dot co dot za

I will appreciate it very much.
Thanks

Instead of bumping 7 month old posts, perhaps you should just post a brand new one? I appreciate that you're updating your links, but you can't do the same for all the other posts and links in your necro posts.

It's really just going to confuse people as they try to follow links from people that either don't exist anymore or have changed considerably since your original post. For instance, Teddy's post about talks about a old post that's nearly a year old now and for a supermod two versions back.

I'm highly conservative...I don't like change...soon you will want me talking about nuclear subs instead of uboats....away with you! :yep: but, i get your point....you shouldn't shun NYGM CM that is a classic! its the same thing that is in Tonnage War anyway...just seperated from the group of installs....which make up the supermod....nothing has really changed....it just gets bigger and better.....NYGM started off modular in design and Tonage War is just a name that puts them all together for those that are diehard fans of the NYGM series.

Question TG....will this work with previous versions of SH3 Commander?

Kylania. it's much better to continue on with a 7 month old post than start a new one. I wish more would do the same. For the main reason everyone will know what's it's all about instead of having to put in links to refer back to it. Or trying to figure out what's going on and asking where the old info is.

Tikigod

Yes GT182, any version of SH3 commander that has the drop down option to change the crew fatigue model (which I think is pretty much all of them) All the file does is add more options to the Crew Fatigue Models.cfg file. He gives you instructions on how to add them in the file itself. This just makes them available already so you don't have to do it yourself.

I agree, starting a new thread is kinda silly. I usually just read dates and take it into consideration how old it is. Not to mention the posts are in chronological order...so there shouldn't be any confusion.

Tiki , I finally got the Widgets, and they are awesome. One problem, they display old locked threads from May,27 2006 ? I even watched one update, turns off then back on again, but doesn't update to current threads.

Did Onkel Neal do something to the site to cause this ?

Also, I thought the About SH3 Widgets was funny, because the picture you jave on there happens to be my current Wallpaper.

I never bother with the crew fatigue, ive always disabled it. I find moving men around in a window every 8 or 24hrs silly. I hope SH4 will have changes to this, besides my men dont like me handling them anyways:lol:

Ah yes, I clicked on Subsim Radio Room bread crumb and it said Subsim has been converted to Bulletin May 28. I guess you didn't update Widgets. It would be nice if you would, but only when you get the time.
