I need some skins for my type vII B. What skins do i use? Under the type 7 skins there is only one. do I use the low rez ones? Also what is everyone's thoughts on the crew skins??

I think you need to unpack 1 level further, to get to the correct folder.
I assume you use JSGME, to install the mod?

When unpacking the rar, 1st open the folder named "VIIC - Mrk2 ".
Then - inside that one - find the folder named "FUBARSVII58 mrk 2"....that's the folder you need to unpack into your SHIII/MODS-folder. Just unpack that entire FUBARSVII58 mrk 2-folder to that location.
You may get a warning about some thumbs-file, but you can ignore that.

You are right Paajtor:
When you unpack the RAR file, it creates a file like this (example only):
FUBARVIIU58MK2/FUBARVIIU58MK2/data......
It should be FUBARVII58MK2/data.....
So, before copying it to the MODS folder to enable it via JSGME you have to eliminate the exceeding folder. It works, trust me, I have it enabled and working like a charm. :up:

This skins are for Type 9c and Type 9d u-boats, they are reworked versions of skins originali maded by Fubar. Actualy this its more or less recolored mod of Fubar´s "IXc U-805" skin (one of the best skins for T9 boats).

Now i got something other to show, a skin for Type 7c and again it is rework of Fubar´s skin (VIIC U-552).
But in this case i did not ask Fubar for permisson yet, so i dont know will be in future update for this skin.

Inspiration of this skin its picture of VIIC/41 model and Castout´s request to Fubar for skining. The model its very good looking so i´m tried to produce this skin over Fubar´s 552.

This its my work for now, maybe it has too much blue in texture but i like´it.

I made two versions of this skin, first "Main Model" or "Big Rust" its on pictures above , and second "Optional" are similar to first but diference is in cleaner lines (smaler rust state).

Edit: This is not complaining ;) just a suggestion. I know you only took inspiration of my model not outright copy:

The current saddle tank tips(front and aft) color seem to be a bit off with the rest of the saddle tank color. Maybe I'm imagining things??

Actually the top wave breaker and the mid section wave breaker is not of the same color(like in Das boot.) with the hull but it's a slightly darker grey(german grey)
The deck is supposed to be grey but I like it as it is now more :hmm:

The wooden panel inside the bridge on the model is actually colored more like leather brown that is a darker brown.

The hand railings on the guns' deck are supposed to be german grey but as it is now the skin is already eye catching. I can't thank you enough. Pls Fubar give the fella your permission on this one. You would have my utmost gratitude:sunny:. Great job Yamato. Thank you

Yamato I noticed that you have a wonderful green colored Atlantic depths. Could you also be kind enough to send me/ host the EnvColors_Atl.dat file?
I tried using the mini tweaker I ended up losing the original file now I have a glowing green At;antic depths.....ssshhh very frustating..

Got my hands on a 1/72 scale Type VIIC/41 U-Boot by Revell of Germany. Beautiful model...and about 8 different paint schemes/ U-Boots. I'm very interested in U-307, it has a very unique camo on the conning tower. Anybody else have this model or color pictures of U-307? The tower has splotches/flecks in a great camo scheme.

Does Fubar still make skins? Does he even still check this forum out?

This skin is improved version of my classic Typ9c grey masked, actualy she its totally reworked in terms of white - black masking stripes and rusting state are added on all parts of 9c sharky.
My previos models are lacked of doors on conning tower, this is allso fixed.

Here its my U-505, White standard and White adler turm screenshots.

About this skins: They are fully reworked wersions of my standard grey and grey-masked textures. After some time of repainting i managed to produce skin of U-505 and skin in White (Masked) color shematics.

*U-505 skin info: This skin somewhat presents u-505 in moment when americans captured this sub. So i´m used authentical(original) WW2 pictures taken during capturing.
I did not used she´s today color scheme (IN MUSEUM) because i don´t think that its she´s historical color.

*Type9c-Whitw and White Adler Turm info: produced over my basic grey skin and they are fictional skins. Adler turm skin its actualy only Conning Tower rework, so this texture will be included with standard white skin like some sort of "optional or bonus" skin.

Skins will be uploaded in few days.

I think it's your wireless internet that's causing this problem try to connect on a wired internet. I have no better solution that I can think of. But again i'm no expert on these stuffs.

I've taken Yamato's U-505 skin for a spin or two. It looks great definitely my favorite skin among just a few other.

I never liked type IX but now with Yamato's skin I'm learning to appreciate type IX especially its torpedoes storing capacity. Now downloading the first grey IXC skin.

If I can say something about it.... If I were you, i would leave then as they are, but that's my opinion only. As far as I am concerned, you did a great job with those skins and need no further modifications. ;)

It looks like i already know answers from CapZap and Castout.It seems that CapZap (like me also) love clean lines, fresh, just hammered out from shipyard subs(in my case i also love a little bite of rust, just for small reality improvement).
Castout, well he possibly like rustier, older, battled´up subs.
Because my opinion is that both versions(original and rusted) will look nice, i will create and upload both. Rust is not hard to make, so Rusted White upload will follow just behind "Clean" White upload, so soon they will surfaced on the NET.

I´m just finished work on my two new skins (Masked standard) for type9b and 9c u-boats, they are similar to previous Grey Masked v.2 but with different masking pattern.
This skins representing standard SH3 Type9 hull color scheme on my grey template.
Hull masking pattern(spikes) have same shape and position like original SH3 scheme, but CT texture are changed(i used CT template in file NSSUboat9c for orientation ).
They are also slightly improved in details of CT (little doors).

This textures are finished and ready for upload.

My first (my own) skin, not rework from another skiner.

I´m shifted from my standard grey template(rework of FUBAR´s U-805) to painting somethig new , and originaly my texture. I used ChessMaster and extracted standard SH3 textures of type9c and started to play with them.

After about hour and half of painting i managed to produce some decent colors over SH3 textures.

NOTE that this skin are currently in development, so some time will be needed to finish details and other..

I´m returned to texturing of type 7 showed on my second post, but now this skin is heavily different and like "Type 9c GREY WOLF" skin this is originaly my work (FUBAR´s skins i used only for orientation during producing and placing some details).

Like in Grey Wolf i with help of Chessmaster extracted original SH3 textures and tuned up them.

Well honestly i really don´t know where they are compatible with GWX because i don´t have GWX (i hope that i will get this great mod soon)
But i can tell you that this skins are reworks of FUBAR´s "TYPE9c U-805" skin so if U-805 is compatible with GWX then possibly and my skins are also compatible.

NOTE: In READ ME of Fubar´s U-805 i did not find issues about GWX compatibility,
and my skins coming with one texture file less then original Fubar skin.
Mask_type9 is name of texture file who is not present in my skins.

So if you find out something about this issue, please contact me so i can fix this in my further works, or just to make note about GWX compatibility in my READ ME files.

"RUSTY" version is currently under development.

U-995 is totally new skin (not rework from another skiner), and i used Fubar´s skins only for example, orientation and inspiration during my work.

So FUBAR thank you for your´s excellent skins, i will never succeed to make worthytextures for u-boats without investigating and following your design patterns.

For upper hull color i used "dunkelgrau 51" and then add some negative Gamma and other procedures for matching color similarity.

(It is very hard to hit right color because U-995 photos showing different color depths. Some are greyblue and others are totally light grey)

On Fubars wonderfull U-boat skins the crew members wear nearly black or darkblue clothes. Something I like very much! In an atempt to get these uniforms, I have downloaded Venatores Black Elite Boat Uniforms - which is another great piece of work! Unfortunately in his mod the crew wears grey trousers.

Does anybody know, where I can get/DL the crew uniforms with the black trousers used in Fubar's mods? Thank you in advance!

The "Turmemblem" (U552 with the two devils) has nothing to do with an skin, these are two different things !

"Privateer" had a MOD released long time ago with name "Turmemblem your way", search for it in the forum or in download section from SH3 here on subsim! With this MOD (IIRC only for GWX) you can have the emblem in front of conning tower !

I'm not 100% sure on this but it may be you need Fubar's higher rez skin.
