The silent hunter 3 community "Aces of the Deep" (www.acesofthedeep.com) is proud to present their new overworked modpack.

The modpack contains new features like a new individuell damage modell and new sounds. The following features can be read in the readme. ( This time in english ;) )

Readme of "Aces of the Deep modpack version 2.0" (this package is DUTY for all the members of AOTD)

This modpack contains changes of graphic and audio datas of Silent Hunter 3. Furthermore some mistakes of the game's translation into German and some little bugs have been fixed. Both Silent Hunter 3's single player mode and multiplayer mode have been deeply increased by some useful and interesting changes. New ships, new planes and fully equipped submarines are available in pretty new missions now.

-English and German expressions in the menue changed
-German writing corrected (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Torpedofire: Key changed from 'Enter' to 'Ctrl+Enter'
-21 new multiplay missions referring to the AOTD-online campaign. German/English (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Menue and ingame sounds of "The Boat" added (AOTD Hoschi)
-Gramophone music added: Tipperaly, Jonny, Mon Gars, Staedtle, So Leben wir (AOTD_Hoschi & AOTD_Captain Nemo)
-Mission finish and start music changed. "Kaiser Wilhelm march" and "Muss ich denn..." (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Speeches repaired and increased, some deactivated sounds of SH3 activated. + All of us will die, Help us God, Oh God help us, torpedo in water, and others. (AOTD_Hoschi)
-New Loading Screens (AOTD Deepcore & AOTD Hoschi)
-Emblem "ACES OF THE DEEP" (AOTD Deepcore)
-FATIGUE raised up for the factor 3 (AOTD_Hoschi)
-New Crews available for Single- and Multiplayer: Soldat, Veteran and Elite (AOTD-Hoschi)
-The Crew for the Multiplayermode was became reworked.The experience is now higher,the medals are now obvious, etc. (AOTD-Hoschi)
-Cash dive deep changed to 90 meters (all submarines), snorkel deep type VII, IX changed to 11 meters (AOTD_Hoschi)
-The Deckgun and the Flak are now usable just to Wind force 9 m/s with the submarine types II and VII, and 10m/s for the type IX (AOTD-Hoschi)
-F1 Help (Attack-orders, war entry datas, etc.) have became reworked in both versions. (English and German) (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Multiplayer submarines' equipment refers to the current time of war. (AOTD_Hoschi)
-IID Sub: Ammor changed --> six Bow Torpedos available (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Hospital ships' penalty points reduced to -2000. (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Hospital ship: Red cross has been changed. (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Full vulnerability mod by Nemesis adjusted -> new vehicles have been introduced, pictures have been darkened. (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Bug fixed: Cheers of sinking a ship in German version available now. (AOTD_Hoschi)
-Bug fixed: Report "Air defense destroyed!" at a missions start in mp. (AOTD_Shadow & AOTD_Hoschi)

Thanks a lot. That sound's pretty interesting.
Since I'm not to familiar with the earlier versions: from the list of mods it seems several files that were altered are also in use by Rub, so can it be adapted for use with RUb and HT?

I'm feeling a little negative. It looks like some of the changes are similar to what's already been done in other mods.

One question though: why change the Type II torpedo load from 5 to 6? Because it was that way in Aces Of The Deep? Aces had that wrong-they only carried 5 that I know of.

Yep, you are right and yes some Mods are old ! This isn´t a first release from us.
The Typ IID Submarine have 5 Torps. The most changes in this Modpack are individuell for our Onlinkampagne, this is one of them.

That may be different dependant on which type of typeII :)

Sailor Steve, it does look a little like change for change's sake here and there. but it seems to me the more mods the merrier. today i decided to rip IuB off and reload the single mods on according to my own whims. heck, i even plan to bump up the points for killing ships so i can ignore those stupid 'AN##' zones - assigned by that Romanian, Admiral Dunkoff. meaningless patrols in areas often devoid of shipping. :P infact i am looking into just reassigning all the patrols to dummy zones right outside my bases, so i can go to the zones i want.

the link for the download of version 2 of the aotd mod doesn't seem to want to work for me, if i use download accelerator plus it just says it cant find the link and that i have to download from the alternate link download acc plus has provided, if i click on download alternate link there aren't any other links available, also if i try save target as it just downloads for a second then says it's done, but it cant be as this mod is about 80megs as i understand and so when i try and run what i've downloaded obviously it won't work, i tried uboot real simulation and there is only version 1.1 any help would be appreciated as i would rather use a newer version

First of all, you need to have SH3 patched up to version 1.4b!!!

There are two files you need to download for the AOTD-Modpack:

1. Aces of the Deep Modpack V2.1 file.

Realy, but AOTD-Modpack 2.1 is not the latest Version of AOTD-Mods.

The latest Version is called AOTD-Modpack 2.2 and you can get it here : http://www.aotd-flottille.de/wbb2/jgs_db.php?action=download&download_id=52&sid=

Modpack2.2 is an Update to 2.1 so you have to install 2.1 first !

Hi again,

and if you want a brand new Mod so take this :

This Mod was made by me in June 07 and it is based on the AOTD-Modpack2.2 !
Only problem is, there is no translation into english !
I hope that someone will do it for me.
It contains some features of GWX, mixed with the AI of the AOTD-Online-Campaigns.
The Destroyers are very Strong in late war.
There Active-Sensors are very strong but the Passiv-Sensors of the AI are not so even strong like the GWX one.
The Damagesystem is based on the GWX-Modell but it is much harder !
Sometimes you need 3 Torpedos to sink a Destroyer but mostly a Destroyer runs away when he was hit by one Torpedo but sometimes he comes back when he has repaired his damage !
Your Boat is wrecked when you got more then 8 Hits from a Destroyergun.
Try out and you will see !

Installation :
You need following Basic-Installation´s to install MadMax´s Modpack 2007

- Sh3 patched with Patch1.4
- AOTD-Modpack 2.1

Now i released some Upgrades for my Modpack wich fixed Bugs and add some new Vehicles into the Mod.

First Upgrade is the "Ship Upgrade V1.0" :
This Upgrade add some new Ships from SH4 into the Mod !

Second Upgrade is the "Real War Upgrade V1.0" :
This Upgrade add some realistic Szenes like the "sinking of the Bismarck" into the Campaign !
Radiomessages will show you the right way to the Action !

Third Upgrade is the "Ship Upgrade V2.0" :
This Upgrade add some more Ships from SH4 and some more new Skins into the Mod !

This Upgrade will fix the Problem with the high Tonns of some Merchants.
Example:
Merchants must be counted in GRT, not in Tonns like Warships.
An KGN got over 11.000 Tonns ( normal SH3 Version ) but in GRT they got only something about 7000 GRT !
I fixed this to all Merchants by using a Translation-List mady by rowi58 from the UBI-Forum.

Got everything, installed them as advised, ran first mission of campaign (1939) in a Type II. Nice.:up: Especially the ships ported from SH4 are real beauties, even people on deck - static however. Somewhat odd to see the tiny sailors and captain stay immobile when ship is sinking, but all in all a beautiful adition.
The only time I was puzzled was when, returning to base after the patrol in which I sunk a Brit merchant, I got zero renown. Is this normal, or bad install?

Yes, it was one of the new beauties imported from SH4, a small freighter (or something like that, can't remember now, I'm at work) with captain and sailors on deck.
Plus, I completed the patrol area assignment, which also should have brought some renown, and I also returned to port (still more renown). Thx for the help!
