Hey Kaleuns

This is my first release and the first time ever i made a Mod !

This Mod contained only a Modified Sh3.sdl file !

What have i Tweaked

Earshots1.1 extension of SoundFix1.0


This modification increased the Soundranges in SH3, my goal was to increased
the sound Atmosphere in SH3.

Changes:

-for DD/DE clasships

the default hearing ranges was ~1000m
I increased the earshot dependent on the ship type to ~1500m to ~1900m

-for Airplanes

the default hearing ranges was dependent by planetyp was ~2000m to ~2200m
Increased the earshot to ~4000m to ~4200m

-Opening of muzzle valve

volume increases
changing ranges from 5m-100m to 18m-100m

-Torpedo firing Sounds

volume increases

-Ship sinking Sound (Scufundare vapor.wav)

Setting the ranges to 100m Min range and 4000m Max range

Remark:

Unfortunately the sinking sound is only listen outside the UBoat dont now how to
fix this

-Ship clock Central one

volume increases
changing ranges

-Diesel Sounds (inside/outside the UBoat)

easily volume lowered

-Thunder Sounds

easily increases

The matter is apparently the audio message "we are pinged sir" overrun the message "destroyer in attack run !"

With your mod, with the DDs propellers with increased volume and audible range..... you can hear the "destroyer in attack run !" message normally ?

PD : as a suggestion and comment, attempt to do a manual editing guide for your mods, it is needed to make each mod compatible with previous mods installed, i have the SH3.sdl file tweaked yet, and i will lose my tweaks if i install yours :up: :up:

Hmm... How did you do that???

With the mini tweeker tool, I tried for the longest time to make these louder, but my changes did not work for either.

With the mini tweeker tool, I tried for the longest time to make these louder, but my changes did not work for either.

I increased the audible distance, for the Vapor destroyer propeller.wav this time from MinRadius 20 to 40 and MaxRadius from 1000 to 2000, also testing around with the Priority settings i notice what some Sound´s are set to a low priority ~1 other one´s at high ~128, not really sure witch priority work´s better i´m on it

oh forget nearly using the MininTweaker tool

I can hear them when they are about to run me over. I love it!

Now, how about extending the range at which all aircraft can be heard? I think it is way too short.

Try adding these SH2 proppeller sounds to Fangschuss
Mod guys !!

Sorry, my fault. :damn: I am wrong with the BigSoundPack-mod. :oops:

I mean the SH3.sdl of the "complete atmospheric plus sound effects pack version 4.1 (http://www.subsim.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=38324&highlight=)" from finiteless.
You can find the 'V4.1_SHIII_Atmospheric_and_Sound_Effects_Pack.rar ' on U-Boot.RealSimulation.com --> Silent Hunter 3 Audio Files (http://216.235.153.31/u-boot/SH3Audio/).

This tweak´s are not inclued but i will have a look to it, never used this Mod ..... i belive i missed some thing :hmm:

if this sdl file controls relative volume of all audio in the game, gaining the sound files itself becomes pretty much useless :roll:

Thanks, i was wondering what was going on with that sound. what a drag. I think you can increase the hydrophone version of this sound, but youd have to jump to the hydrophone sound to listen to it, and that kind of takes the fun out of.

Have tested the hydrophone shipsinking sound and have also increased the Range and Volume (not in this version), i had hoped my
SO became to say Ship Sinking or something like that...but nothing... some Sounds can´t not heard in other stations :( i have tested around with the Periscop raise/lower sounds ... i want make them audibly inside the UBoat but no way.... :88)

I don't hear these sounds either.

A new install won't help, because they don't play in my new install either...

ok now i know why i can hear this sound´s :huh: i´m using some old sound´s from FrontFlottille1.0 they mixed up the blowing.wav with the
ChE_K_Surface_the_boat.ogg and the ChE_K_Blow_ballast.ogg speech files :yep:

Hi guys, Hi Fangschuss,

as i was a member of Frontflottille (9th Uflottilla), i allready implemented in last half of 2005 an "Audiosystem" for that reason (to detect surface-vessels at a range of 1000m right out of the "Zentrale", by altering the SDL-File + required WAV-files...

...i cant test your new modded SDF because of time (more interested in Flightsimulator at time). Perhaps you could test our version by ripping the FF 2.0/2.1 (as you like) audio-folder to your installation, maybe it help you at a point ?

The sound of ship braking and colapsing firewalls ?

Are you refering to "Scufundare vapor.wav" and "Scufundare vapor_hyd.wav"

I can hear it from outside, from periscope station and anywhere inside........

May be your sh3.sdl or your .wav file ?

I never hear the "Scufundare vapor.wav" inside my Uboat, the Scufundare vapor_hyd.wav" i can hear in my Hydrofon loud and clear.

The "Scufundare vapor.wav" is only audiable outside the sub for me :hmm:

Inside my Sub i can hear the Torpedo impact and the ground collision
when the ship hit´s the ground.

I can hear it from outside, from periscope station and anywhere inside........

this mod sounds soo greaat! But i hesitated from Dling it because of the ship sinking issue inside the sub. I really wish that the sounds of ships sinking was magnified inside the sub, u can barely hear it, and it pisses me off so much. Specially now that im playing at 100% realism, i cant check outside with a periscope because im diving to evade DDs. Oh Well. We gotta find a way to fix that, maybe a new mod will work.

I was playing with your file to adapt my own sttings to it, remember i use the Depth Charges FX wich delays the depth charge explosion into sh3.sdl file, so i made changes, plus remember i use modified propeller sounds.

Plus i was making modifications attempting to fix the "destroyer in attack run" message.

But if you want i can send it to you with my "Scufundare vapor.wav" too and you can test, remember you will experience a delay in depth charge explosions, if you not use the Depth Charge FX mod, you can roll back its settings modifications, in this mod i made a manual editing guide so the changes are documented.

Really i dont know how much of your mod remains into my file, any way you know how to add any of your settings.

I have not your problem, i am sure you can solve it.

If you want them i will prepare a little pack on Rapidshare.

Are merchant sound ranges changed too? I want my neighbors to think its armaggedon when I penetrate a convoy! I want the floors and walls to shake! I want LOUD NOISES!!!!! (that is without my Crew screaming at me)

This is exciting! Can't wait to try it!

No i can get it works properly, some times if no other sound is on work, i can have the "destroyer in attack run" message normally, but most of the times it seems to be override by "enemy is pinging us" and "we are being detected".

This happens with the origional Message_so.cfg file, and with many changes on the file.

I recently add the mod called "More Sounds by Hoschi" wich adds a new Message_so.cfg file, same behaviour on "destroyer in attack run", but it works so fine with some new messages.

Here you have, in the pack is my sh3.sdl in use, i cant rmember if it is yours or not, you can check, with the chnges for Depth Charges FX mod, and some changes in volume and ranges i made in some places i cant remember.

Plus you have my SH2 propellers sounds, modified....., are not the same you know before, check this new ones, and plus you have the Scufundare sounds i have in use, they are not originals, they are from some body i can remember who, who post them for download.

Together, all this files works fine for me, i can hear the ships sinking, mampare and firewalls breaking and colapsing from any where, inside or outside the sub.

Good luck :up: , please comment i you solve the problem..... and any new you found in "destroyer in attack run" matter. :hmm:

I am thinking in.... to completelly eliminate the "we are being pinged sir" mesage......... i can hear the pings when they are so near.

Some time some body comment about it, the sonar operator can know when the Dd was pinging the sub, because the "bump" of the sound in the hull, it is diferent when the active beam not hit the hull.

This seems to be real the message "we are being pinged sir", but i think so the "destroyer in attack run" is a little bit more important, because anounces to you you are near to be ramed.

By the way, where is your improved DC Explosion .tga located at for download? I'm gonna post my Tweaker settings (of your DC explosion) soon and they look much better with your .tga...

Message dont works fine even at periscope depth ...... some times it happens, some times happens but too later when other sounds as pinging finish and the Dds is outgoing.
