RUb and IUB have already added Ireland as a country, among many others. You should DL one and try it.

Do either of this mods include Uruguay?

Oooh, that's a tough one... Sorry, no Uruguay.
But there's plenty of other nations included. Argentina, Spain, Turkey, etc.

Thanks for the response Markhimov.

I'm actually looking for some more countries myself, but no one seems to know where to find them...

I'm starting to think that Beery included these rosters in an older version of RUb, and then he removed them in subsequent releases.
I know that to add country you have to edit both the flag.dat and flags.dat, what program do I use to edit these files?
Anbody know the program to use or do I just not worry about it.

All the best programs are here:

Look for the SH3 Unpacker Program
But I just downloaded all of them. They are really good modding tools... Just try not to get too crazy with it...... After all, modding is a BEAST of a job (but it pays well ;) )

Oh, here's a better program to insert the graphics into the DAT files. It's good and it's real simple to use.

EDIT: And a reminder that you can't actually add new flags. You can ONLY edit the existing ones.
Thanks Marhkimov. Getting it now.
portuguese ports ( azores ) and spanish should be in game ...

Hi!
You can find flags for these countries (if not the bases themselves) and many others not included in default Silent Hunter III as part of Sergbuto's Nationality Mod V3.0, located on this page (http://web.telia.com/~u18230645).

Thats a pain in the rear. I wanted to create the Royal Australian Naval Flag for Aussie Warships and still have the stock Aussie flag for merchies.

If anyone is interested:
In my mod, Unchange&Adding1, I have sofar added Denmark as country, maybe you think it was added in RuB? No, not really, in RuB it was part of Norway! As a Dane, I couldn't accept this, so it's totally independant now, well at least until Germany occupies it in 1940... :-(
I was thinking of adding more countries in a next edition of my mod, together with more cities on the map!
I did post a release note in here about my mod...
i was wondering ... adding the new ships will make them behave like all the others ? like in convoys or individually ? will one loose other units to add new ones ?
can i add them without problems ?
thanks

What do you mean? Adding new ships into the roster folder?
That's not really adding new ships... That's just allocating the previous ships to another nation.
in this page they mention new ships

Yes, you can add new ships. :yep: That is Sergbuto's page - he has three new ships there (made from in-game ships) and has more under construction.
Check the "Mod Request for More Ship Types" sticky for more info - a group of us (including myself, Iambecomelife, NoLine, Snowsub, Chris 911, and others) are making more - mostly from modified in-game ships' parts, but some are making entirely new ones.
i saw that i even downloaded gmax to try and start my shipyard :)
but maybe i just stick to skins thats my area
anyway im a bit afraid of changing the txt files to add the new ships
im shure i will mess things up
Don't worry, it's easy. And in case you do make a mistake, just make a backup or an extra copy. There aren't that many text files that need to be changed anyway.
