RUB 1.45 and IUB 2.0

I am just getting back into sh3, after a time out. My main problem was that i could never seem to keep up with the new mods, and kept un - installing, or rolling back, to incorporate new ones.

anyway, back on track, my question is this, what will happen if i install RUB 1.45 and then IUB 2.0, as i see in the readme for IUB that RUB 1.44 is supported ? has anyone tried it ?

Basically i'm after realisim without tracking down loads of mods, would you agree that the two mods mentioned are the best way to go about it ( along with SH3 Commander ) ? if not what would you recomend, aswell as the mods mentioned.

Lastly is there any plan to update IUB/RUB so that they are both compatible with the latest version of each other.

I agree HanSolo78. I thought IUB contained RUB as well.

You mention IUB 2.0? I thought the latest version was 1.02 or is there are newer version available?

No, 1.02 is the latest version.

Yes but IUB 1.02 contains RuB1.44 - whereas RuB has moved onto RuB1.45.

I think that installing IuB after RuB would cause the RuB1.45 to be overwritten but I am not sure what effect doing things the other way round would cause.

Hi. At the moment I am cross-reading IU 1.02 with RUB1.45. Since they are both well documented you can actually pick out most of the "Deltas" between RUB1.44 & 1.45, check these against the IU 1.02 and carefully put them in (if you want to). Aiming at having my own tailored IU/RUB finished by this week.

For example the data/Menu/de_menu.txt and en_menu.txt is easy read in "notebook". In here you can change renown req. for type XXI to 15000 (as in RUB1.45). I have myself reintroduced "HULL INTEGRITY" wich should say: 589=HULL INTEGRITY %s %.

I think most of RUB 1.45 can be "inserted" bit by bit .

By the way, we just got the news that the Swedish SSK "Gotland" (wich is leased to the USN for traing under a year i San Diego) has slipped through the ASW-screen and "sunk a carrier" (scope-photo).

Thanks for all the replies, would really like to get IUB 1.2 (NOT 2.0 my mistake) and RUB 1.45 merged. if anyones done it can they please post somewhere.

also i was thinking of doing a clean install before i install IUB, but before i do can anyone tell me how i can adjust the screen resolution, i currently have it at 1600 x 1200, but to do this i had to download and install a file and i cant remeber what it was.
