Another post I did on two forums at the same time. Interesting what the people on this forum think about this topic.

While browsing the SimHQ forum I stumbled upon this Commentary "Rancor in the Ranks" written by Tpm "20mm" Hayden. While reading this, it struck me that this behaviour described therein is something I have seen over and over again. And even on this very young (in time that it exists) forum as well.
Please read the text here (http://www.simhq.com/_all/all_013a.html) for information.
Personally, most of the time I have spent on the net I was involved in one Clan. Aside from very brief stints for research or simple browsing I never really got involved in another forum except the one from my clan. This changed about a year ago when I took the step out of the clan and into the Dangerous Waters Community.
In this year however I have seen more then my fair share of this stuff happening and on some occasions have been in the middle of it, because someone pissed me off big time. Its not fun and to some (and more so on a bad day) those "battles" are more then annoying. Don't get me wrong I'm a friend of a good friendly discussion, but once it gets personal it gets ugly. Lately I have tried to stay out of it by simply refusing to respond to some posts, or if I couldnt resist at least keep my post brief and to the point.
Anyway, it seems that for every 10 or 20 new members you get someone who is trying to piss people off. To those people ... if you want to waste other peoples time by simply trolling (use google to find out what that means) or want to start flame wars - grab your bags and get the hell out of here. So much on this topic.
Cheers
