I am playing jan 13, 1940 and have played this scneario 3 times now and I still die. I am attacking a convoy with 3 Black Swann dd's as escorts and even had a friend around to see the action the third time.

I came in on the surface the last time fired my torps which 3 hit merchants and sent them to the bottom but as soon as I crash dive
and start down and even with dd not in the position to attack me I soon here the (YOu are receiving damage and then poof major flooding and before you know it I am dead and this has happened three times
I am a Wolfpack league member U-658 and I don't think that this is right can someone help me with this or at least figure what is happening here. I have the IUB mod 1.02, sh3 commander mod, ClearWater mod and Kriegsmarine_capital ships in this along with WolfiesTweek Pak mod and that is it for mods.

I would appreciate some help or explanation of this and if it can be corrected U-5000 out or if you are wolfpackleague member contact U-658 at the forums

Take your pick. One of the following could have happened:

You accidentally hit a mine...

The DD fired a long range hedgehog...

The DD fired k-gun depth charge launchers...

You had previous u-boat damage and your hull integrity was already compromised...

What grid position are you in?..You may be hitting the bottom...Check your depth before you dive...CH

remember this is 1940 not 1944 and I had 97 meters below me for depth I was at 50 meters when this happened . I am in grid AM 52 and it is a large convoy of 20 ships in this with 3 escorts
I did have previous battledamage in the campaign and i think was not in the greatest shape but everything was intact and was in working order before this but if they fired K guns it would of been a long ways off. the side escort was at least over 4000 meters from me and the front dd wasn't really in sight very much either.

ok I just run another test on this bug and it is one I know it. I ran parrallel to convoy not that close so not in a attacking mode. I ran for long time on surface was not spotted by any dd so I decided to dive again. I went to crash dive and went to as far as you go on the dive at the 50 meter mark I get these damage reports on my sub and then poof i am done for getting flooding and depth charges going off . If this isn't a bug I will eat my hat :damn:

Look out for mines and make sure your hull integrity is not too low. That's all I can think of...

btw, you never told us what u-boat you are using. Or what grid you are in?

I am in Grid AM 52 and am in a Type VIIB u-boat year 1940 Jan 13 is the day. anything else needed to find this I will give you.

There are two minefields in the vicinity, but I don't think they're there in Jan 40. But I don't know IUB well enough to confirm that. I'm sure the first appears in RUb around May 40.

Some people apparently have also experienced similar results after installing the no-cd crack, but again, I can't comment.

Being in grid AM52, there is a good chance that you hit a mine. You're not very far away from the coast of England. If you decide to go in there, then you better be prepared for trouble, whether it be from excessive DD or aircraft patrols, or underwater minefields.

However, if you want to determine if this is a bug or not, then just fire up a single mission with a Type VIIB and dive to 200m. If you survive, then there is no problem to worry about.

Another possibility... crash into one of the sinking ships?

well I tried the single player mission in april 1940 and went to this location. one thing i didn't say was there is a lot of garlbled talking on the crash dive not like the ordinary sounds like there is a bug in this area of the ocean. I did dive to 50 meters looking in external mode no mines in this area . I don't know if I am exactly where I was but am close. It could be a mine but i was in external at time looking for this but did not see anything if anybody goes to this area beware the bermuda triangle LOL  :arrgh!:

So I take it there was no problem this time?

ok I did another test in campaign where I was I took the boat to 40 meters everything just dandy ran like that for a while in external mode looking for mines. No mines in this area, but as soon and I decided to take to boat deeper which I ordered 68 meters as depth, at 50 meters I get this sound of boat caving in the reason for dieing was that the pressure was to great. I expect my sub was not in the best shape and should not dive any deeper then 40 meters this is the only thing that it could be. I guess you guys decide. I am going back to port and get fixed up. :yep:

Well, no we can't decide what the problem is. We can only help you, and YOU will have to find out what the problem is...

Were you attacked in previous engagements? Did your U-boat get damaged? You still haven't given us the full report... But if that's the case, then returning to base would be a good idea.

I did take damage earlier in this campaign mission but no percentage of damage in the f7 screen and everything is in working order as i attacked this convoy I found. So if the sub was damaged to the extent of going past 50 meters maybe the hull was not sound enough to take this pressure.
