Is there any way to add more crew members to the control room and or Conning tower compartments? The crew additions are great for emersion but out of a crew of 54 we only get to actually see 6 in the Control Room and 4 or 5 on the bridge.

Adding more crews like I said in the Control room and the Conning tower I think would be more realistic to what the compartments actually looked like.

Thanks

And, on top of all that, it can't be done :rotfl:

No, it was just ignorant on his part.

Without insulting you I will explain my thoughts. During a typical patrol (not during battle stations) there would typically be more than 6 crew members maning the control room and during battle stations there could be as much as 12-15 maning the control room. Look how many men were in the control room in Das Boot.

Look at the Conning Tower, where the boat is nomally steared from unless that compartment is damaged in the game there are no crew members at all. During an attack there would normally be 4-5 crew members there. In game there is just me. Not to realistic if you ask me.

your speaking crap....I think not.

Now this is different. You are correct that there would always be a watch crew on the bridge in addition to the gun crew and the additional crew required to send out the ammunition and bring in the spent shells.

The watch was even more critical at these times as it would take a very long time to dive with just bringing in the deck gun crew let alone securing the gun etc.

Sadly this is a silly thing in SHIII that cannot be changed.

From Das Boot, I concluded that there should be in the bridge the normal watch crew; in the conning tower, one guy manning the TDC and another one in the telegraphs (surface attack); 7 people at least in the control room; and apart from that, there should be a firing officer next to the deck gun crew, so that makes at least 4 or 5 people down there.
I wonder if these things could be done. :hmm:

Yes could be nice.

Unfortunately they put only a few crew members in the control room and the bridge.

They also forget put the captain in the boat, there are a file with the kaleun face and uniform but is not implemented in the game.
Another unfinished thing like dolphins and trap containers. :shifty:

I am wondering if it would be possable to even put stadic crew in the stations, somethin :-)

Like 2 or three at the back end of the control rook looking at the gauges or something, then one or two at the most in the conning tower.

Oh well, maybe I will just use my imagination :-)

I dont see SHIII as a unfinished product, I love this game, after almost a year later I still love playing the game and with the mods in place it is a wonderful game, even more wonderful than SHII. I remember feeling "is this it" after 3 hours of playing that game.

...and another one in the telegraphs (surface attack);
and when they drive submerged, that guy must sit here in front of the BBC control and steer the sub ;)
