Do you use add-on slide-out gauges for the Chief Engineer's report in SH3?

Inquiring modders want to know.

All the time. Fits in so well that I often forget that it's not originally part of the game, but TT's good work :yep:

And I'm curious...

If you voted for "no", could you please explain why?

If you voted for "no", could you please explain why?
Simple - Apart from RUb I avoid any mod that changes "menu_1024_768.ini". It's more fickle than scene.dat!!!

If you voted for "no", could you please explain why?
Because I edited the "menu_1024_768.ini" with ottos slide-in-slide-out bigger compass mod (EX_Rasinban_v1.2_forSH3_v1.4b (http://rapidshare.de/files/2683774/EX_Rasinban_v1.2_forSH3_v1.4b.rar.html)).

But if it is possible I would use both.

@Maverick_[GER]: how did you get the gauges to form part of the info bar down the bottom left?

Hi guys!

i think the slidout things are very usefull in the game!

Have a lot of them....

Thank`s a lot to you Rasinban!

I am working with a good friend on a new Compass, sliding out from the right down corner.
Also i made a new slidoeut with depthdials... but needs much work.

The Entries for the Menu_1024_768.ini and Dials.cfg were hard to get out. but the Rasinban was a perfect teacher for me and this new Mod....

I have made new MenuID blocks....don`t ask why, but it works.

Will let u know when it will be finished :)

I also will make the same slidoeut with the 25 Depth dials.....

Here a screenie:

FLB, that looks awesome! I'll be waiting for that impatiently :D

Maverick_[GER], is it a chronometer that you have in the middle of 3 gauges?! If it works, how usable it is! Is it available in anywhere??

Maverick_[GER], is it a chronometer that you have in the middle of 3 gauges?! If it works, how usable it is! Is it available in anywhere??
The mini FBAC panel above the officers panel and the Chronometer instead of original small Compass are both components of the Ex_Rasinban v1.2 mod (http://rapidshare.de/files/2683774/EX_Rasinban_v1.2_forSH3_v1.4b.rar.html).
They are very useful, because they are visible on all stations. For me these components became indispensable. Therefore I do not change the "menu_1024_768.ini" for other mods.

It works.... :D

Painted a new Indicator for Big things... and it works....

It is not looking perfect but it is doing his job!

The other thing:

I am also a little bit afraid of editing those menu_1024_768.ini, but it is very easy in some cases.... The Problem is only that there are a lot of mods outside which do use that menuxxx.ini file. so everyone has to edit his own individually for using some mods.....But that isn'`t so dramatic! :)

I have learned a lot of things in editing that cfg files. A lot of credit goes to Rasinban, Timetraveller, Wazoo, and all i forgot which are profis to me with editing those menuxx.ini and Dials.cfg.....

The modding guys here, are outstanding! A lot of things to learn for me from you guys!

Best wishes Sale

I don't use the slide-out Chief's Guages mod, mainly because I just never got around to it. I'm used to clicking on the Chief and asking for his report, and installing the slide-outs just never occured to me. Maybe I'll try it sometime.

I like the slide out gauges but for some reason, they're not working for me. They used to work before I did a uninstall/reinstall of SHIII. :-? I'll have to find out what 's causing this problem.

:damn::damn:

Grrr, stop voting for this!

This poll is nearly 2 years old and was designed to find out if people wanted the slideout CE reports to be included in the original Grey Wolves.

Well, news flash, all major mods have it now.

Grrr... bloody necromaniacs! Subsim should implement an automatic time-out on polls, methinks. Say, 3 months from post date? Or 1 month of inactivity if that's possible? :hmm:

Wishful thinking?

Guess voting won't make any sense now? :rotfl:

You mean the fuel, air and , battery slide-out gauges ??

i use it, because itīs very easy to slide out ...., but itīs not a problem call to my engineer for the requested repport. also sometimes interferes with the Recon ship manual.

But i think that a TDC slid-out dials could a lot more useful..:hmm:

why do you ask it ??:hmm:  :88)

Hey Hartmann, I guess you didn't notice it's almost 2 (two!) full years since the question was asked...
Don't know why anyone think it's fun to raise dead-old threads?

I guess the reasons are the same for those that keep bumping them???:dead:

There is no need for any further posts on this thread by anyone. The matter was sorted ages ago.

I like the guages but click and drag or pushbutton pop up is more my thing
I find the auto slide outs annoying at times.
