Ship break up mod : http://files.filefront.com/Soundmod_for_Ship_break_uprar/;4531016;;/fileinfo.html
This is some sounds that I have composed to my liking.
They are probably similar to other soundmods
but this ones I have made myself and if you like them, feel free to use them.
There are five different sound mods I have put together in this soundpack:
1. Torpedo doors open (Torpedo tube opening)
2. Torpedo fired (Torpedo tubes)
3. New dive sequence (Dive sequence)
4. My old "Emaschinen mod" This mod makes sub run quite silent when listen to engine and propeller sound under water.
This version is a little bit tweaked in volume since last version (Submarine_electric_exterior, Submarine propellers 2)
5. Reduced bow-wind mod with new awsome diesel exteriour sound. I always thought that the bow-wind sound was too dominating when you where on the bridge, so I reduced it and also added a very nice diesel exteriour sound. Now it sounds more realistic when you turn around at conningtower, and you also hear the diesels better. This diesel sound is not my creation though. I don't remeber who the "owner" is, but all credit for this awsome diesel exteriour sound goes to him/her.
(Submarine_diesel_exteriour, Vapor Siaj)
EDIT: 6. And as request from Corvette k225 a ship break up mod mixed from different sounds, so credit for this one goes to the original creators
Hope you like them

I've never played SH2 before, but what is so difficult about just porting over a simple sound file? Just make it in the correct format and bingo! An SH2 sound in SH3...
Is that so hard?

It is very easy to do. You need to find the file you want in SH2, convert it to the proper format ( both correct kHz and file type ), then rename it to match the SH3 file EXACTLY. many of SH2 sound files that are in the Sfx/fx folder will fit perfectly in SH3. If you have a sound editing program(Sounblaster cards have a easy to use editor as part of the software package, Creative Wave Studio ) you can reformat the files from stereo to mono as required by SH3. The best sounds are unfortunatley in the speech files of SH2. These need to be converted to .ogg format to work in SH3. You then need someone to provide a detailed list of what all the files in the SH3 speech folder represent and go about matching them up. There is already a conversion of DBSM for SH2 to fit SH3, I do not know how complete the conversion is. I just did part of the fx folder for myself and it was already close to 100meg! wish I could share it but working from a dial up connex would take forever to upload!

As I'm on a very good mood today, I have mixed a SH 2 sound with another sound made for SH 3 and made this extended "ship_break_up mod".
It's ready for installing with JSGME
Hope you'll like it. :sunny:

Filefront is semi-down, could someone rehost this mod? Rapidshare?
I found it here :
http://u-boot.realsimulation.com/ ;)

The ship break up mod? I can't find it there in the general section or in the audio files...how is it listed?
Thanks Jochem.
Found them both in Audio Files. Grab the two that start with Rulle34 near the bottom of the page.
Baxter, the ship breakup files aren't there. Just the submerged and dive sound files. Sorry.
Both of those mods at U-boot.realsimulation are earlier sound mods that rulle34 did before the ones talked about in this thread.
Is this available anywhere else except Fileload. I keep getting invalid key errors :-?

Well where can we find the Sound Pak? :-?
Unknown at this time. We will have to wait for rulle34 to repost them or, someone else to post them for him.

Great engine sounds Moorhuhn!
I especially like the torpedo tube opening sound is great, although the same sound is used when closing. This should be the other way around ofcourse. But I think it was in the stock game too.
I didn't like the diving sequence sound (with the voices) I think the RUB1.45 sound is better.
I have no luck at filefront when clicking on "Download Now" all it does is refresh the screen, and for some reason trying to download files at U-Boot.RealSimulation.com just results in early termination of downloads, after about 5 minutes windows comes up with "download complete" but the files are allways corrupt!
Is there a link to rapidshare?
Thanks.

Anyone that has worked with sound files or convert music files can do it, or anyone that can manage image files work with converters, can create there own sub tga's, but why bother doing it when we got people doing it for us :) Soon as i get a message that a new update is available i head back to port and Bingo, my boat has a new paint job & better engine sounds and off i go into the new sunset
You are the mod makers we are the mod testers :|\
Having said that, i wanna say a big THANKS to all the modders out there, my game is getting better each time i try a mod.... and to think i was against mods for SH3 when it first came out.

If a mod only contains audio files (like WAVs and OGGs) and/or image files (like TGAs), there's no need to go back to base before installing them. Pure eye and ear candy mods can be installed on the fly.
