Title says it all.
I posted a link in DW Mods forum. I know it is eye candy and maybe not central to the gameplay but I see quite a few people asking.
Well if you do and reckon you can paint then check out my thread and download the model and try painting it.
If it works well I'll be putting more up there.
If noone bothers then I'll be removing the link in a few days and won't bother any more.

I get stuck using painting programs after the "fill" tool but I still downloaded the file...
That hasn't stopped me prettying up DW with all the SCX II models I could cram in ;)

Just downloaded it and will look at it right now. I might find some time to work on it over the holiday...

My pet peave is that my beloved OHP has no sonar cylinder on the hull. :-)

How does this color scheme grab you Xabba?

(Remember this is still very early on and I haven't sorted out all the maps and details yet, I just want to give you a basic layout...)

Thanks ok, I'm glad you like it Pigfish.
I have a question does anyone have a j3d viewer so I can look at the model with out having to install the bmps and turn on DW every five mintues? The one in DWEdit is too small... :hmm:

Looks good, that was where I was headed when I tried painting it myself.

I'm sure there will be some takeup on the modelling front, but people need to pick up the skills - do you remember when people were figuring out SC? It was a long process, and a little intimidating.
The Foxtrot is looking good.

Is there a "model painting for beginners" thread anywhere on the boards? I wouldn't mind giving it a try but haven't got a clue what I would need to begin.

Try looking at this website for some nice programs : http://www.righthemisphere.com/ I think the Viewer is free, tho I'm not really sure.

Thanks for the tip Oneshot! Their 3D paint/texturing software is a little pricey for me ($595 US). Doesn't look like I'll be doing any painting in the foreseeable future. :(

I have 3D Exploration already. It dosn't have a viewer for j3d... :(
Prettier ships and subs would be nice, of course. Even, if it doesn't play a majot role in the gameplay. But, what I would like first is that someone correct the mistakes on models, like the French aircraft Rafale with only one engine. :hmm:

No good at aeroplanes mate...sorry
Switching the Towed array and the Nixie on the OHP would be a great start and not too complicated I suppose?

Switching the Towed array and the Nixie on the OHP would be a great start and not too complicated I suppose? Just open up the masts databae in DWEdit and swap the x,y,z, numbers. ;)

Xabba the waterline is too low in the water. How do I fix this?
''Switching the Towed array and the Nixie on the OHP would be a great start and not too complicated I suppose?"
''Just open up the masts databae in DWEdit and swap the x,y,z, numbers"
So would it be possible to include this in the new LuftAmi Mod?
Or perhaps it is already fix in the 1.03B?

Every single 2D prop in the game...I'd forgotten how sweet and "brassy" the props looked in SCX

You'll have to paint the waterline higher.
The draft of the model is correct. The depth of the hull is a guess.
They only give beam and draft on specs....

Why putting so much effort in objects that are below surface?
Doesn't it make more sense to upgrade the objects above surface first? :)
Just joking a bit guys, nice work!
