Nope but I know that in these forums talking, hinting or pointing to links for No CD or No DVD patches is FORBIDDEN :nope:
So please stop this topic and let the moderators close it :stare:
Yes lock this topic! Reloaded is one of the most organized piracy groups. We don“t support that kind of behaviour! :nope:

PM' sent.
I advise you not to talk about such things on public forums, usually they are VERY strict about piracy. Even though I don't think that its piracy to use no-cd cracks when you have bought the game to preserve the cds (or dvds), it is not strictly legal.

I have a legitimate complaint that my SH3 CD is beginning to get
marks and scratches... It's probably part of their diabolical scheme to get us to buy a 2nd copy of SH3. Dirty, dirty... :shifty:

Although I normally wouldn't be into this "stuff," I have to admit that after trying it, starforce is a problem of the past. It's completely gone! I couldn't be happier.
I hope the moderators are open minded enough to realize that this can solve a lot of problems; they should realize that it is more of a "patch" rather than a "crack."
After all, starforce has broken the law by forcing its way into our computers unknowingly, it should be our right to attempt to fight back. Starforce didn't fight fair, so why should we?
For instance, my SH3 DVD is getting more and more worn out. Something is burning and scratching it, because when I look underneath of the CD, there are so many marks. It would be highly unwize of me to continue to use the CD, because when it wears out, I'll have to buy another copy. Quite simply, this "patch" will save me from having to do so.
If people would like to "learn more" about this issue, they should PM me.
I do wish people would be more open to the No-CD patches as being legitimate ways to protect our investment we made when we bought the program.Or in this case a way to remove the know virus called "Starforce".
I to like to keep my CD's/DVD's safe and I make backup copies of any CD's/DVD's I can and use No-CD patches where I am unable to make a backup.
There is no point about initiating or continuing a discussion about the benefits or not of no DVD cracks, guys. I myself have my own ideas about this all, Starforce included, but the fact is that we are guests in a forum hosted by someone else who did set certain rules. So we shall respect them, period. :yep:

I agree, Hitman. Neal has his rules, but....
Just this once, I hope Neal reconsiders. After all, we aren't trying to be pirates. We're just normal people trying to live our lives; maybe Neal can understand this...

I will second that.
.... after noticing an "etch" pattern evolving on my SH3 CD and considering buying a 2nd copy....
.... and after I've considered all the money and time I've spent working to fix a broken sim/game... for MONTHS...
SOMETHING has to be done.
I do not advocate piracy.
I do advocate good customer service... and am thoroughly unhappy with Ubisoft's efforts (or lack of) in this direction.

 power too the people
Please let this stay.
I too bought the game, yet I use a no DVD thing etc to play (no starforce for me). I strongly support using measures like these to deal with intrusive spyware sent along the games we want to buy. In fact, I almost didn't buy SH3 due to starforce being on the disc. But ever since I found a way to circumvent that, I thought OK.
It is a sad situation when the publishers create a situation where buying the game is more of a hassle than to get it pirated. On that topic, why don't they supply juicy manuals and such anymore? That'd make it even more fun to buy. Ship recognition manual for example! :D Larger maps, localized maps. A plotting map template you can print and use real tools on :D

I fully agree, in fact me & my father have already bought two copies of this game. However we r both runnig a NO-DVD patch thus to preserve our investment. And we both plan on purchasing SH4 when it becomes avaible. Hopefully with out SF3.

I was reading the other day about CD/DVD protection and one of the problems with StarForce is that it required the DVD head to make physical contact every time you start the game. As a result, some people are now seeing the results of this contact with the "scratches" and "wear marks" that are now showing up on their DVDs.

... Which increases HARDWARE wear and tear!!!
Yet more reason to use the NO DVD patch. :hulk:

Even though I am strongly in favor of the no dvd patch, I recommend that we keep it on the downlow. Not for fear of our very understanding moderators, but from the villanous Starforce themselves.
It would make absolutely no sense to attract more attention from the Starforce makers, for instance if they found this thread... They need not know that we from Subsim.com approve of this so-called "enhancement" patch.
Hopefully you all will agree.
Cheers!
Marhkimov.
PS - Send me a PM if you are interested in learning "more" about this enhancement patch.
What consequence would that have if one more out of a few thousand dislike their softwarea?

I don't know, but honestly we don't have to beat a dead horse, so to speak.

Agreed :dead:
If there is no percievable negative consequence from it (but many percievable positive, like more rallied support against such starforce software, that publishers will hear of), then why should we avoid it?

I was reading the other day about CD/DVD protection and one of the problems with StarForce is that it required the DVD head to make physical contact every time you start the game.
I dont think that that is the case considering the fact that a DVD is an optical device and that the DVD is read by a laser, that being the case what would be the point in the head which is not designed to come in physical contact with anything to come in contact with the disk.
I have had SHIII since day one any have played countless hours, yet my disk looks as good ow as it did when I bought it.
On the other hand, I would be interested in the patch you talk about, I will PM the correct party not because I wouldnt want to buy another copy of SHIII, a game such as that I fully support 110%, SHII on the other hand, well we wont go there :-)

This is the wrong thread to fight a prevelant war against starforce... Instead, we should leave this thread as a place where people can "bypass" the current negative affects of starforce.
There are a few more anti-starforce threads in the sh3 general forums. If anyone wants to protest against starforce (by all means, please do so ;)), you should make posts over there.
Otherwise, the PM offer still stands.

I really don't see the problem, I bought the game ( 60$ canadian, not cheap! ) and if I want to use a no-dvd patch I #$%@ will.
Keep your SH3 copy fresh and new in the box
