I think I saw this before but I cant find it now for the life of me. I am using the latest version of IUB along with the light night mod. Now I never have any clouds or fog. Always perfectly clear with nary a cloud in sight.
Anyone know the fix for this?
I have the same problem even after I installed the sky mod still no clouds. I also am running IUB 1.02. Sorry wasn't much help.

Check the weather report.......you might be in the middle of a "Clear Front"...i wonder about this as well....then all of the sudden i was in a Storm.... and there were plenty of Clouds....
Usually we're wondering "so where is all the sunlight?" Honestly. Clear weather for weeks on end; what are you complaining about?!

Well, its wierd. I mean, Ill be in heavy seas, watch crew in their rain gear. Wind howling. All that stuff. Just no clouds or fog. Perfectly crisp clear skies. Come to think of it I couldnt seem to find the weather report key either.

I have the same problem. A while back I had beautiful clouds and sunsets; now all I get is clear skys or heavy storm clouds with heavy rain. I have run harbor traffic 1.46 as my only mod, and it still happens. I like beery water 1.44 as it makes the night sky correct (instead of light water and dark sky), it makes the water darker and the sky lighter as it really is. Using this mod doesn't appear to make any difference, however. I have tried the atmospheric mods, and the fog-cloud correction but it doesn't make any difference; still no clouds.
I load the game through the Commander and use jjones mod enabler. I have tried using Ail's sky 2.0 but this doesn't make any difference either. I have fiddled with the Env and the scene_dat files; adding any mixing them from various mods, but nothing helps.
I think my sub is stuck in the Saraha

I will try to help,
For all of you who don't use the 16km atmosphere mod (ie the stock game
8km world) and play RUB put back in your Data folder the original RUB
Env folder (all the folder) and the Rub scene.dat file. So you come back
with the Beery's water and sky colors with clouds and fog.
If you are playing IUB mod witch include the 16km visibility mod, install
in your Data folder the IUB Env.folder (all the folder) and scene.dat file.
If you want to use the 16km scene.dat file Fog Fixed install it just over an IUB install or another 16km visibility mod. The 16km scene.dat file Fog Fixed is NOT COMPATIBLE with RUB, because this mod doesn't include the Env folder and corresponding files, just the scene.dat file witch need to be installed after the 16km atmosphere mod or IUB 1.02.

I was having the same problem, it was due to mixing files from diferent visibility mods and other mods.
If i not remember bad, the sky is into a dome, and the clouds are into a inner dome, if your clouds dome is outside the sky dome you never will see the clouds.
I was attempting to maintain original Mac mollo 18km, but lot of fixes incomming later as sky fix, moon fix, finally i intall the 16km, and make my own changes into underwater visibility.
@ Keleunt :
What is souposed the FOG Fix do ?
Please check private message ..... i send it days ago, but you dont had opened your incomming box.

I have the 16 km mod and i don´t have any problem with the clouds ( see my signature).
perhaps is a problem when the files are mixed obtaining extrange or weird effects. like the dark sun
Hola redwine
About the fog i´m a bit confused :88) it could adds fog to the 16 km , but i´m not sure
I read something about the lack of fog with the increased visibility mods ... :hmm:

I'm still confused. Kaleunt's memo doesnt address my problem. I use Beery's water mod 1.44, ail's sky mod v2.0 and Rubini's harbor tarffic v1.46 as my only mods. I do not use RUB as yet, and oRGy's IUB 1.02 won't run on my computer (I get an harbor frame rate of 1 with it).
I think the problem is with Beery's water mod, but I the realistic night sky is an important addition to the game and I want to use it. I tried to use the scene_dat file from this mod and I have tried several combinations of the Env folder files from other mods, but I get CTD when I do this. I don't know enough about the inner workings of these files to iron out the problem.
As to Mr. Hartman's memo, I have tied the 16 km light Atmospheric mod; however, if I use it with Beery's water mod I get no clouds. If I mix the Env folder from the atmospheric mod with Beery's scene_dat file, I get neither coulds or lighter night sky. There must be a solution, but with Beery leaving the mod community, I can't ask him.
I used to have clouds like those in Mr. Hartman's note.

Ok, to everyone who is missing clouds and/or sky...
Why don't you just use the entire atmosphere mod?
Or use the entire RUb environment, scene.dat AND Env files?
The most simple solution would be to not mix and match things that were never intended to work together in the first place.

Mr. Marhkimov,
Thanks. I'll give this a try. You make things sould so simple; why didn't I think of this?? :arrgh!:

Ok, tried some of the suggestions here and still no luck. Did some expermenting. What I found is it seems to be a conflict with the Light Night mod and IUB. Iub on its own I get clouds but to dark to see at night. With Light Night, I can see at night but no clouds.
Heres the fix I came up with. I re-installed IUB then put in the stock SH3 env folder files and scene.dat. I now have clouds and can see at night.

I tried this and could only get 1 fps in harbor, so I gave up.
I did a clean install and am using only RUB 1.45. I have both, but Rub is tough for me.

You might be getting 1fps because you are using Atmosphere 16km mod...
Either go with default SH3 settings, 8km Atmosphere mod, or RUb.
Don't use 16km mod if your computer is slower than a turtle. My computer is pretty darn fast, and even I don't use 16km mod anymore.
I love 16km mod because you get to see a vast ocean, but 8km mod gives me +100 FPS, compared to 40 FPS with 16km.

OK,
When I win the lottery I'll get a faster computer.
Thanks,

I spent a whole day screwing around with this. Now keep in mind that I am a modding dumbass. I tried Different combos of the IUB, light night and stock RUB files. Just using the ENV folder and scene.dat. Tried different orders of installing each. I could only get one or the other. Clouds but to dark or light enough but no clouds. Now the conflict is gotta be with the light night mod and IUB. I dont know how to get into the .dat files to see whats going on. Again, Im a dummy when it comes to this.
I ended up doing a clean install of SH3 then enabled IUB and its patch using the generic mod enabler. After that I copied and pasted in the stock Sh3 ENV files and scene.dat file. Im also using the Ail sky mod.
What I get now is the black sky at night with the lighter ocean and clouds. Not perfect but its something I can live with.

I think that i have this problem too, my screenshot is with a previous 16 km mod ( the first, with dark water) :damn: :88)
i have the last light night version. and in my last and succesfull patrol and i had or clear skyes or storm, never overcast.
I have to do more testing to trace what is the problem, i use always js mod manager for no mix files.
