a de brief i cant email to savage wolf darn things
here it is:
Savage wolf under ice prelimanary dive report
DeBrief
main issues i found is the lack of trust you have in your boat, and the lack of confidence on the whole, its not unusualy quite normal because your weary about what to do.
when i said stop to surface you orderd back 1/3 which if traveling at 4 knots (undetectable speed) would have automaticaly given your position away, i suggest you just order stop and drift like me, and if its unsutable to surface then carry on at 2 knots.
you avoid the ice peaks and burgs, which you could use very cunningly to desguise your boat, you lack the confidence to run close and fast near them i took a screen shot and you had ample room to go near it in fact i could have double parked the entire typhoon fleet in the space you went around.
a later pass you did with about 6 feet to spare which is very good and very close and is a good pass here.
you surfaced well but the back 1/3 wasnt a good order not under ice,
i asked you to double park via a U turn you didnt know the controls which is a big mistake familurise the controls is a big must
i asked two questions max speed and depth you said in the 30knot range and no greater than 1,500 feet which is wrong the 688i can go to 1,680 feet and maintain 35 knots so you realy need to know your boat inside out before you go near the ice in a real one on one battle.
full left turn wasnt quite as quick as i expected but it went ok in the end.
i asked how many blades on the screw you said 8 the answer was 7 and its a scew bladed propellor not a metal one.
ISSUES:
you lack confidence which takes time to build anyway so that no major deal
you dont know the parameters of your own boat in a war game exercise or battle situation its crutial to know every inch of your boat
you were a little scared to go under the peaks, natural but in the end we got there which was good a major achievement.
you keep ordering back 1/3 and 2/3 under ice its a big no ! it will give you away easy
what to work on
get to know your boat every detail i can provide you with every inch of this ona fact sheet infact its not that hard to find know every detail even down to what reactor powers your boat load out weapon performance what you weapons do how they do it everything if its on your boat know it.
build up your confidence run single player for a while and get to learn you boat and what it can do what it cant do and trust your boat this is a big issue the trust between you and your boat.
when under ice the mission is to stay stealthy this means ordering back 1/3 2/3 standard ect should never be used when going forward unless entirely needed as it will make your boat cavitate and show your position to the enamy.
trust your own instinct a bit more dont avoid the peaks use them to your advantage the trouble with many american skippers is that they would rather avoid the peaks than go near them well thats fine but bear in mind it can seriously fool the enamys sonar to an extent they will run right past you.
get to know your enamy boats not inside out but enough so you can find a weakness in them, most boats you will probly come up against are kilo's akula's seawolves and more than likely the odd german unit know there parameters and thier weapons.
other than that all is good a few more dives and you could be there easy.
PS screen shots coming soon also
