In the limits of the possible nowadays, with all the modelling cloning etc...

Walrus to attacle me wiith apair of Bombs (cloned variant?)

Cruisers (Southampton, Fiji and the likes) that have airplanes on board, to be launched when german uboat action is detected. The Walrus could tackle uboats or rescue sailors from Cargoships...

Liberators to be defined as divebombers VERY late in the war.
because early when they appear they use that useless tossbombing thing... hilarious but harmless.
They would switch to divebomber tactics when they find out that their bombing only gives me the chuckles, not the creeps   :rotfl:

a real Russian DD, Tashkent maybe

What do others wish for?

Tashkent was a single-class ship that began and ended its days in the Black Sea, so it doesn't really have any value for SH3.

My wish #1 :

A connection between map and periscope:
I'm at the scope: I have identified a ship - checked ranged and now there is this new button that puts a mark in the map according to bearing to target and range. With a time stamp.

I can stay at the scope and later I can plot course and target speed.
Whay easier and more realistic than changing station.

-More detailed damage levels for equipments. -> beyond certain level could only be repaired in (dry)docks. Uber repairs suck in the game.

-Random mechanical breakdown's to your boat (radio, diesel, pumps, compressors, valves what ever etc.)

-Random crew accident's, man over board in storm, broken leg or neck, seagull flew into someones head)

-Food gauge for the crew/U-boat type, a simple bar would be enough (like the diesel oil for example).

-Warm clothes for the watch crew when not raining/storming. Looks stupid when they are standing there in their shirts in January...

-Using of seamiles and knots, not kilometers and knots. Meters could still be used in planning attacks like now.

-Calendar hanging somewhere (picture is irrelevant, dates should be visible)

-Editable KTB

-Make that watchman stop looking at me like that.

-Decent Map in the game with names and depths. Including minor quadrants when zooming close enough.

Edit:- Possibility to set automated shifts for your crew ( ...1200, these men goes blah blah and 1600 they are replased by these...and click. All done, no more micromanaging these Forrest Forrests).

I agree about the Tashkent. I have a book with her line drawing, and she's pretty stylish.

I've been planning some new planes for the game with typical Battle of the Atlantic aircraft as a priority (Wildcat, etc) but I haven't had the time...

Wanker! You stole mine! Really though that would be good. After the new Hollywood Advanced fatigue mod all we need is a way to manage shifts and not crew men. Being able to reassign an entire shift with a single click would be excellent. Having to individually drag more than 17 men every 8 hours sucks alot.

LOL :P I hear you! Although more about everything would be nice to have...But realistically speaking, since this is a pretty much the-men-and-the-machine thing, I think that fixing small but important details around this formula would be the most important... It should truly try to "simulate" the life of U-Boat men. IMHO. At least that's what I would like to see.

YOu spend SO much time out there without actually engaging target's and at this point all that time is irrelevant to this game... there is nothing to do but to listen your twisted german hits and herd those zombies.

I agree. However the game above all else seeks to recreate for you the experience of being a U-boat COmmander. Now I'm no naval expert but I'm pretty sure that the Senior officer didn't bother with the menial work of changing shift and dragging every individual to and from his bunk like some brain dead robot. That we have to take so much time to micromanage the crew sucks and takes away from the experience. I've spend hours up late writing in pencil (so I can erase it all!!!) shift schedules so that when I go to change shifts I can easily see who to move where. Usually the shifts are figured out before the trip and then a schedule is followed. SO thats a pain and not very fun or immersive.

If we could somehow either create new buttons or edit the existing buttons in the crew management screen so that a pre-designed shift could swap out. I dont use them anywayso if those could be changed to manage shift changes I could get on with conducting the U-550's crew performance of HMS Pinafore.
