Ive looked all over, and im a little tired of searching with no answers.

On a whim id like to go check out the indian ocean, problem is the IXD2 is always stuck in the dock cause its too damn long.

Wheres the fix for this?
(FYI im using improved convoys and Floatilla 1.44 by berry i think.)

I read somewhere that one way is to edit the LND layer and bump the start points up a little. Well, i can't do this, cause the editor spits back a couple hundered errors and won't let me save the changes *sigh*

Playing a game shouldnt be this much work =/

I didn't do this for ages, so I could be wrong, but IIRC you have to select "save as..." instead of save! This should override the error checking. OTOH, I thought that this bug had been fixed a long time ago?!

Thanks..

"Save As" Does the trick.

The IXD2 being stuck IS fixed for the most part, it is however still bugged if you use the"floatilla1.44" mod and start in the 12th floatilla.

The LND layer is a layer found in the ( going by memory here), data/campaigns/campaign directory.

Theres like three files there. one of which is annotated LND. Im no SH3 editor wiz, but opening it up and looking at it, all it looks like is where all the allied and axis bases are, what properties are attributed to them, and when they become available. Im sure theres more to it then that.

Anyway, open it up, and zoom in all the way on the base in question that gets you stuck. In the cause of "Beusomethingorother that ended in an X" (i forget the spelling), theres three green "T's. Just grab it with the mouse, and Move it up a few pixels.
Then

Save AS

and then LND Layer. (make sure its an LND layer)

Back up your orginal file before you do this. You may even consider running it through JGME so you can remove it more easily if you mess it up. You'll have to be careful otherwise while the sub may be unstuck, you may find it too far to the left or the right inside the pen, making it hard to get out without taking some damage. (i lucked out and had JUST enough room to clear the exit)

Ducimus forgot to say that you should use the SH3 Mission editor to edit the Campaign Lnd file. :up:

But before you do so, be sure to make a backup.

Had this exact problem my friend, stopped me playing for a few months.

Heres how to fix it:

Open up the file:

SilentHunter3\data\Campaigns\Campaign\Campaign_LND .mis

with notepad.

Look for:

[Unit 36]
Name=Bordeaux
Class=NavalBase
Type=407

Where it says Long/Lattitude, change the co-ordiantes to these over the top of the ones that are there:

Long=-103695.000000
Lat=5447206.000000
Heading=0.000000

^^^these are the ones you want

This is the location that the sub will spawn (which is in a pen)

It will be free of the wall at this position.
