When down to the other forum for the steps to make a duel install.
when into the regedit and open the "HKey_Local_Machine folder
found the Solfware folder then found the SC Sim folder found the
DW folder and highlight the folder and saw a bunch of files?
Next step was to go to Registry tab??? never saw a Registry tab?
That was a far as I got ??
What am I doing wrong?

I happen to love you and Sub Sailor, because when something happens you aren't expecting you always assume it is something you have done rather than blame someone else. It is that attitude and way of approaching life that has made America great, the willingness to take personal responsibility for yourself and others... sadly lacking in people of today. :D

Look for the "File" tab, and "Export...". I think that should get you where you need to be. I think the walkthrough was originally written for an earlier version of windows.

Let me know if you need anymore help! :arrgh!:

Cheers,
David

LF,
Thank's for those comments :D Most of time it is me doing something
wrong I just started using a PC about 1992 you guys have grew up with
PC's :D
This is what I found when open Reg folders I am using windows XP home
I found the SCS folder inside was DW folder and a 1.0 folder
inside the DW was a bunch of AB files with names and REG_SZ?
names like AB Defaut REG_SZ and names like CD drive, Display name,
Folder, Install Dir, Installed From, Language, Product Guide & Region?
and up in top menu is File, Import & EXport no tab?
Question which of those files is the Registation File? and in the !.0 folder
is a bunch of files like above?
Little confused at this point :D
One time I made a duel install SH2 but don't remmber how I did it :D
Regards
Lane :D :D

Don't worry about the individual files, just copy the whole Dangerous Waters Directory.

You need to backup all the reg files, so backing up the directory is the way to go.

Ignore all that crap on the right. On the left, make sure the DW folder is highlighted, then find the Export command... LW is right, I think it used to be a tab, now its on a drop down menu at the top.

The export command is what creates the reg file you'll be needing.

The mod should work techincally fine with 1.03b, but the sonars will probably be out of calibration, meaning that the detection ranges will be off from 1.01.

I was weeks away from joining the Marines, but I had reconstructive surgery to my ankle from an old High School wrestling injury, and was rejected on medical reasons.

I would have been going to boot camp next week in fact if all went as planned. Hoo RAH!

Thank's LF,
Sorry about you missing the Marine Core :(
I was in Navy 1955 to 1959 was a "Airdale" Avation Branch
Made AT3 third class Avation Elecronics Tech.
You guys sure make some good mod's to improve DW
I got a new puter last spring and got DW with nice manual
Then I got SH3 :D Sometimes I think I leave SH3 and learn
DW and SC I like the Subs best like the Kilo. had Jane's 688
and SC. but it nice to know how the Helo's work and the other platforms :D
Saw a interview with a Sub commander on TV and said there job
was to hide in there line of work. :D
Keep up the good work making DW Better
One more little dumb question I see your loacation is Free New York?
Is that New York USA? or is there a town someplace called Free New York :D

I was living in Brookyn (Occupied Brookyn) but now I'm back up in my home town in Upstate NY, and things feel so open and pleasant up here that I feel miles away from the problems of the world, so I call it "Free NY", even though I am near Albany, which is the most beuracratic place on Earth. LOL

After you have reached the point where you see the "Sonalyst Combat Simulations" Folder, just go one level below to the "Dangerous Waters" Folder. Left Click that, then right click and select Export. Alternatively use "File"->"Export". Disregard whatever is listed on the right side. If you select the "Dangerous Waters" Folder and export that, everything in and below it will get exported as well.

Thanks One Shot,

Will do that if I try a duel install :D
When you hit export does the whole Folder go to C:\?
or does it just copy the folder the folder and sub folders ?
I don't know if I want a DW 1.01 with JSGME installer I just mit
remove 1.03 and make a new install :D
Thank's I will think about it :D
Thank's for all the help I am a new member in your CMD Dive Center :D
One more question that comes to mine with DW I flew MS flight sims for
years how in the heck do you see over the instrument Panel in the P-3C?
I guess you don't have time Looking out cockpit window :D
Can you have more then one P-3C in the air at the same time :D
Thank's for help

There is a button in the upper right corner that lets you switch between cockpit, HUD and Outside View. You can have more then one P-3 in the air, but thats up to the Mission Designer. You can only fly one P-3 in a mission and cant switch.

As for the registry part - you export the contents to a .REG File (which is basically a text file). And the content of the registry you export is saved in certain way, and whenever you import it written back into the registry.
