Hi everybody
I see in commande.fr file the key to fire torpedo is CTRL+ENTER.
[Cmd313]
Name=Fire_torpedo
Ctxt=1
Key0=0xD,c,"CTRL+Enter"
How to change it to ENTER simply ?
Thank for help :)

When you start accidentally hitting the enter key, sending perfectly good torpedoes in no particular direction, remember this thread. :yep:

Search for "normal" in that file, and you fille find a normal time compression entry. It's great to add the keypad enter key to it, and just disable the keyboard shortcut for fire torpedo.

Thats weird. I thought it was just enter by default. In fact Im sure it was because I modded it to ctrl + enter.
Maybe a mod changed it ? I never noticed.
RuB changed it to CTRL+ENTER I believe...

I agree with The Avon Lady about not having "Enter" as firing option. Accidental firing is rediculous easy when that function is on "Enter".
And I have never felt that I have too much torpedos on patrol :roll:
Having Ctrl+Enter is more clever, because somtimes you maybe want to take a nice screenshot (or just watch) when a torpedo just goes off. This is not possible if you have disabled all keyboard functions for firing torpedos :up:

I remember when the sim first came out some folks were physically popping off the Enter Key from their keypads LMAO. :P

You know you play too much SH3 when you start physically manipulating your keyboard.
I go with the CTRL+ENTER for firing and just ENTER for TC 1x. I think it's the best combo. I wouldn't go back to the stock config. As everyone said even one torpedo being fired because of it is too much. The ENTER key is just too hard to avoid (especially in a panic).
I fired tube one by hitting something on Key pad :oops:
I was trying to set it up to take a screen shot?
First torp that has been fired on the whole patrol been out approx 15 days
in bad weather Overcast and rain just cleared but have partley cloudy
sky and rought sea's. Got to stay at P-dept now May be air patrols around
now during day getting near my patrol area. "OH" I got a radio message
Feb 2 1940 that the supply ship Thalia is in port till Dec 28, 41 Cadiz harbor which is on south coast Spain. Running HT 1.46 :D
Radio message from U-47 on patrol Feb-1940 Location secret :D

:lol:
I was doing a search, to find how to disable the Enter-key for firing torps (it's still like that in IUB1.02, appearantly...), and found this thread....I've re-installed SHIII, after many months of absence.
I used to stick something underneath the Enter-key, so it couldn't be pushed down, lol. :D
Anyway, thx for the tip.

A question:
I have 2 files....Commands_de.cfg, and Commands_en.cfg.
I am playing SHIII in English, but with German voices, on a US-qwerty keyboard.
Do I need to edit both files?

No, just edit the English file.

Why is this at all possible in the first place? Surely you cannot fire a torpedo without a firing solution being entered? I've tried firing off a parting shot at a convoy as I'm attempting to dive rapidly to escape an escort and I get a message saying : No solution for tube 1 or something to that effect. Why would it be different on the surface?? Does anyone know??
