I have just installed the new Atmosphere Mod and it's causing a serious in game graphics issue.
Basically - the sky stays in nighttime/dark mode (with rapidly blinking stars) as the sun starts to appear and stays dark throughout the daytime hours. The water glows milky as well.
Relevant system Specs:
ATI X700 PRO 256MB video card
Intel P4 3.2ghz
1GB DDR PC3200 Ram
Mods installed are:
Tankeriv seafloor
Pascals Mods
TrasparantKonsole
Liegh Lights
Ail Skymod
Hi-Res Flags
Pascal Ripbud and onetinsoldier dials
Camera_Mod - user edition
Multiple Skin Ships 2.0
finiteless sound files
Shelldamage textures
Harbor Traffic 1.46
Uboatdreflections fix 2.0
Irish Reds Radiolog 1241
I have manually installed Azamarack's english Das Boot sound files and I use SH3cmdr newest version.
:damn: Any clues?
I can Email screenshots if needed.

I don´t tried this new mod yet. but be sure that you overwrite all the files. if you mix files if possible have weird effects.
Perhaps is in conflict with ails sky mod
I had this effect mixing stock files with the mod-
I have this mod over rub and but now i am a bit confused with the new mods
16_km_visibility_mod_RWR_Moon_fix_Clear_water .
works well except for the worm hole in the clouds and the stock water reflections, the murkiness of the water have a good balance, clear but darker than the deffault game.

Yes!!! Exactly like that screenshot. I used JSMGE to install the Atmophere Mod and JSMGE did not prompt me with any conflicts so I assume all the stock files were overwritten with the correct modded ones.
I uninstalled the Atmosphere Mod with JSMGE and now the graphics are perfectly fine again.
I really want to make the Atmosphere Mod work for me. It seems to have greatly improved eye candy features, especially the 16km vis fix and Markhovs improved sun/water, fixed sky vortex issue, etc.
Any more advice?

@ mferrulo
You seem to have very good system specs and none of your mods should be interfering with the atmopheric mod. I am unable to come up with any reasons as to why it won't work. Hold tight, someone with more technical expertise might be able help you with this one...
Sorry, I can't help,

That is what happens if the Visibility mod files are not installed propper. Make sure the Scene.dat file is the correct one.

I don't see a scene.dat file in the mod data folder.

Unfortunately night sky all the time as well . This is what i did . I installed via jgsme on top of rub 1.44 and played sh3 via commander 2.2 .

Capt. Ferrulo
Are you sure??? That would be quite odd, because the atmospheric mod is 100% dependant on scene.dat. Without it, you will definately have problems. Just to be clear, are you using the 16km version or the 8km version?
I am personally using the 16km version and have encountered no problems, but I haven't tried the 8km version.

Try doing a manual install (i.e. no JSGME). Make backups of the files that you are installing. Then, move and drop files manually. See if that works.

I purposely got this effect by swapping the Sky Colors with the Env Colors just to see what would happen, is it possible something like this could have happened with your install?

markhimov-great idea but I got the same results-black sky, flickering lights etc.
Using the mod installer the only files that showed in conflict were the scene.dat file :modified by RUB1.44 then modified by BigWave 1.5.
I do not want to lose the Big Wave mod as I love the stormy seas so I disabled the atmospheric and installed the stand alone 16km mod.
Would love it if someone were to be able to merge these two.
Thanks to all the great modders. We all appreciate the time and effort that goes into these projects.
HEMISENT,
Timetraveller has a tool which allow the player modify a lot of parameters of the game include the waves (you may change the waves for any number). The tool is called SH3 inspector if I'm not wrong.

I paraphrased you there, but if I am understanding you correctly, that means that you installed the atmospheric mod, except for scene.dat (you decided you wanted the scene.dat for BigWave 1.5).
If that is indeed what you did, then that's your problem. You need to use the scene.dat that came with the mod.

No, I think sh3cmdr leaves the DATs alone...

SH3Cmdr does not "overwrite" scene.dat. If, and only if, the user chooses to adjust the water density, the selected value is poked *into* scene.dat. So, unless the water density value features strongly in the mod AND the user has chosen to adjust the water density, the problem lies elsewhere...

Salute! Jaeson,
The water opacity was left alone as clear/stock value in favor of SH3 Cmdr... Since you can adjust water density within SH3 Cmdr... the value for said opacity is left up to the player.
More versions may follow with different opacities, but we made the first version to satisfy the most people we could.
There is a slight problem with the original DL though. Somehow the scene.dat used included timetraveller's 1.25x waves.
This has been corrected in the Atmosphere Mod DL post with a new link which I will repeat here.
http://rapidshare.de/files/6991842/16_KM_BASIC_ATMOSPHERE_MOD_v1_1_.0.rar.html
My sincerest apologies if this caused anyone trouble. I have no idea HOW it happened since I don't use the larger wave mods.
(It did look cool though!)

As a test, as this seems to have worked well with "clashing" mods in the past, I would suggest that SH3Cmdr users that are having problems try these two steps:
1. Perform a rollback in SH3Cmdr.
2. Disable the Atmosphere mod in JSGME and re-enable again.
This combination of steps best "cleans" your SH3 files. Of course, if users *choose* not to install certain files because their files have other features that they don't want to lose, well...
@Kpt Lehmann: No probs with what you're saying - I just wanted to quickly nip in the bud the "it must be SH3Cmdr's fault" approach!
Great looking mod BTW

Kpt. Lehmann:
I am a little confused. Are you saying that version 1.0 has the 1.25x waves and version has the normal waves in the "scene.dat" file. I want the 1.25x waves, so I need to know which "scene.dat" file to use that has all the other "fixes" in it too (sky, clear water, waves, etc).
Thanks.

Okay, give me a few minutes and I will modify the post to include a 1.25x waves link. They will also be a little more clearly labeled. ;)

Thanks and looking forward to the 1.25x waves version with the 16 km vis mod. I was playing with the test version over the weekend and it really opened up the ocean visibility.
By the way, will this scene.dat have murky water or clear water. I know murcky water may be "more" realistic, but you can not get good screeshots with murky water, so I prefer clear water.

Hi Panama Red.....
If you want to take amazing screen shots, disregarding 100% of reality in underwater vision, just tweek these settings.
Go to the scene.dat file, open it with an hexe Editor and follow the points here one by one.
Updated to be more clear : (sorry)

You can not to extend the underwater visibility beyond this point, becuse the waves underwater surface is modeled into a square of about 200metersx200meters, if you increse the underwater visibility beyond this point you will start up to watch the sides or limits of this square over your head.
Any way you can "play" tweeking these setting into intermediate point to obtain the underwater visibility at your pleasure.
Best regards, red.

I'm still a bit confused.......
Is the issue I'm having (see first message in thread, )and at least a few others related to either:
1) I'm using the Uboatreflections fix 2.0
2) The Atmosphere Mod I origianlly downloaded scene.dat file had the 1.25 wave?

What settings in scene.dat does the "Big wave" mod (or equivalents) change? Are there any other similar such single file tweaks that could exist as options in SH3Cmdr?
How does that old saying go.
Black sky at night
Sailors delight.
Black sky at day
Players dismay.

Thanks for reply. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. In response to your inquiry about the scene.dat files. I installed the "entire" mod as issued. I never pick and choose as that just screws things up.

i had same problem here's what i did
( using sh3 cmdr, and jgsme )
1. disable mod in jgsme
2. rollback sh3 commander
4. unselect check box for adjust water density in sh3 commander
5. re install mod in jgsme
6. launch game with sh3 commander
hope this helps, mod is working fine now for me
Thankyou slipper , works now .
