Heya

Was wondering what that WAA button is good for in the SW sonar display. The range is shown automatically when I move the indicator over a contact. Is it a leftover from older times?

And out of curiosity: Are the 688s nowadays still witout this incredible useful gadget? Or were they upgraded?

thanx

If you press the "Rapid Loc" button the display, when you already have a S# applied to the contact, the WAA information will be passed to the TMA and will show up as a bearing line that ends at the WAA indicated range.

So, it's to help with TMA.

The WAA is a VERY complex system that can't be easily retrofitted into older systems.

Edit2: Seems like I missunderstood what WAA means, nevermind :)

No actually you were right the first time. :hmm:

Hmm... so it seems the 688i do have a range estimating WAA. :o

Well, unfortunately, due to the limitations on the interface, there is nothing Amizaur and I can do about adding this to the game.

As it stands now with the mod, the 688i and the Akula are about even matches, so... :88)

Oh well. :damn:

Sorry...  :-?
