View Full Version : Where to adjust night brightness ??

Could someone point me to the file & where to adjust the night brightness please? The day is fine, but at night, to see anything, I have to turn the lights out or I see nothing, far too black, it may be realistic on a cloudy night but even on a full moon it's still black. :-? Would like to be able to see what I'm shooting at. :yep:
If anyone knows could you please help, Thanks.

There's a mod somewhere out there that turns the night sky a very dark blue instead of black, allowing you to just make out black silhouettes of ships. See if I can find it.

When I release my little sky/water mod, you will be able to see in the night. :D

How clearly? Not unrealistically clear I hope?

How clear, do you ask?

When you will release it?

Rubini.

I wanna make sure I release it correctly, so I'm going to make sure I have everything in the right order

I don't plan on releasing v1.1 ten minutes after I release v1.0

Not at all Marhkimov, many thanks, I put in the 16km mod, had to get rid of Krillers water so now I see further underwater than on top, how they can see the ships at a great distance at night is beyond me, they must have IR eyesight! May take this mod out and put Krillers water back in.
Looking forward to your mod! :yep:
The C2 in darkness just shows as a layer of light coloured rectangles on the sea, a texture problem, might be my ATI 9800 Pro!
Thanks.
PS. In case it is still too dark could you let me know where to adjust the brightness or release 2 versions, even if it is a little unrealistic, thanks again.

The C2 is painted that way, not a graphics problem.

If you are not able to see my night pictures clearly, that is an indication that you should turn up the brightness on your monitor. No doubt that the screenshots are dark, but on my monitor I can see them just fine.

The brightness & contrast are perfect for daytime & normal use on windows, that is why I wish for a much lighter night! ;)
Don't want to infringe or interfere with your mod, but would really love to see a much brighter night light......PLEASE! :D
Many Thanks (on knees) Marhkimov, Did I crawl enough!! :D

Reece i have the same problem with the brightness but i think it is after i installed a mod.I will try to search which mod it is and get back to you, i think it might be harbor traffic.

That's unusual Andy, I think everyone would be running various versions of the HT mod, but fail to see any files that would effect brightness. :o

Marhkimov

It can't be HT mod... there is nothing in there that would affect brightness or sky coloring.

Your guy's systems are just overly dark, that's all...

*By the way, I almost have the lighter version finished. I have come across a few problems though. If I make the sky too light, you will see weird splotches in the sky, and you will soon wish for it to be dark again... You definately do NOT want to see those splotches. They are horrendous.

So even if it still seems a little dark, you have to understand that a balance has to be struck.

Reece

You are right Marhkimov, would rather it dark than splothes. :)
Thanks for your time & effort, I'm sure others will want this as well.

Hey guys, these screenshots are not yet final, but tell me how they look...

Are they bright enough for you to see?

Do you notice any splotches?

What do you guys think? etc.

Ok, these are screenshots of what is probably going to be the final version. I feel as though it is very balanced... Not very dark, while not being too light.

I really hope you guys can see it...

Ahh, I don't see anything, I get this problem from time to time and so do others, I thought it was IE but firefox is the same, funny I can see the first 3 pics, oh well, just have to take your word for it until time to download. :dead:
Thanks.

:) There is a program called 'PowerStrip" brought out by entech which allows you to increase/decrease the brightness of your screen while playng games which is good when you can't see objects on the screen during night sequences. You can get at :www.entechtaiwan.com/ps.htm Cheers
