View Full Version : Krieg Schwein Really Readable Dials question
Hi All,
I'm new here to this forum and downloaded Krieg Schwein's Really Readable Dials Mod but having trouble installing it correctly. Is there a new version out that uses JSGME? Already messed up the install once and don't feel like uninstalling/reinstalling again. I like the looks of this mod but afraid of messing up again. I'm in a campaign nearing late 44 and don't want to lose this campaign. :)
Also want to thank all the mod makers for their great work! This game is already too addicting. lol

Have faith someone will throw ya a life line
Hehe...ok. Maybe Krieg Schwein himself will help me. I just like the looks of his dial mod. I just don't feel safe changing all the numbers on the one file to get the correct setting. I just downloaded the new version of SHIII commander and will give it a try. Thanks for the reply Vader 1. :)

Thanks for the good words :D what is it exactly that is not working?
I am guessing that you have some other mod installed that is conflicting with it! the menu_1024_768.ini file is used in lots of different mods!
to install it you just need to click the RAR Executable and it will install in the correct directory path so long as you put the correct starting path in,
mostly people use C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu
But others just use C:\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Menu
just change the starting path of your game to fit the path you need and for insurance rename the menu_1024_768.ini to menu_1024_768.BAK and the DialsFdb.tga to DialsFdb.bak so they are backed up!
I didn't make then JSGME because I never use that program!
I thought that that the backup files I put with it would take care of any problems!
If you have a few mods installed and sure not sure what is conflicting send me your menu_1024_768.ini file and I'll modify it to work for your game! I know there have been a few mods since I made mine that could conflict!
Bottom line is as long as you back up the original 2 files and then put mine in place of them you shouldn't have any problems also it wouldn't hurt to back up your saved gamed in the SH3 folder in MY Documents
Let me know if you need any help!! I;ll be glad to help you figure it out!!
Thanks Krieg Schwein,
Your probably right about conflicting mods, will check out JSGME. I'll try it out again with what you wrote. I'll give you a heads-up if it works.

Ok,
I deactivated all mods on JSGME and uninstalled bordinstrumente 0.9. Then following your instructions installed the files again. I even went and put .bak at the end of the two files before installing. When starting the game, I get this:
Warning!
Menu ID not found: 0x1a020000!
Warning!
Menu ID not found: 0x1a020008!
I'll send you the .ini file, so you can take a look at it.
